Chapter 5: Beacon of Hope

5.1 The Deal

After my stupid mistake, I felt like there was nothing else to live for. I killed everyone, I thought to myself. Even with these wishful thoughts of a miracle that would happen, I still wouldn't be able to recover from what I just did. I made a mistake that was fatal and could've been easily avoided if we just didn't rush the vote. "Don't you fuck with me! This is all a bad dream right?" said Ralph. "Hahahahaha, my oh my... I'd rather see you take all the punishment for all of us" said Amy in an ominous voice. "Cut it out, your starting to scare us" said Micheal. "So you want to take the pain?" said Amy in an ominous voice. "Nya-Nyahahaha! Let the despair engulf us!" said Juli. "Are you fucking crazy? We can get out of this situation! Now fucking help me pry these doors open!" said Ralph as he pointed to the elevator doors. "That would be unnecessary, what is there to hope if we're always on the run" I said. "You too Carol..." said Micheal. "I call forth the Demons of Salazar to take my body! I heed the demonic strength to destroy the evil enemy!" said Floyd. I looked to Carmel who had tears in her face but she was standing still like a statue. "What is there to life with this despair" she said. "Fucking Damnit!" said Ralph as he dropped to his knees. "Ahhhhhhhhhh!" he screamed in frustration. "Well if we believe in life after life then maybe this isn't too bad" said JC. Amy walked dizzily towards JC and put her hands on his shoulders. On her face was a crazed expression while on JC's was a terrified one. "Hehe, cmon I know you want to die, take the punishment for us" said Amy. "Let the spirits join us!" shouted Floyd. "Stop that crap you fucking shit! Let's just accept we're fucked...." said Ralph. "So this is our end, a wrong decision to end it all" said Carmel. "Alai Furos Cabilera Guhi Puita!" chanted Floyd.

Monokuma finally returned after awhile. "Well hello there! I finished the mass execution. So let's begin!" said Monokuma. "Do it I want to feel the Ultimate Despair!" said Adine. "Ahhh finally! I challenge you, evil entity! I challenge you to a card battle!" said Floyd. "Huh? Okay" replied Monokuma. After so Floyd took a deck of cards and they began shuffling. After a few moments, I heard Floyd speak. "Hahaha fool! You were no match for me, Joker F!" said Floyd. "Okay! Your prize is that you will be the first in line to ride the one way ride to despair!" said Monokuma. "Wait what? Those weren't my conditions!" shouted Floyd. "Conditions? You didn't give any so I just made them myself" said Monokuma. "Fool! Don't! I did not want this!" said Floyd. "Too late I already pressed the button" said Monokuma. After Monokuma had said his line, I heard the large doors open up and I looked up. I saw that a chain was around Floyd. "Fool! Unbind me now!" said Floyd. "Too late! All your faiths were sealed when Lian was executed. Now that boy is dead-" Monokuma was interrupted by a loud voice. "No that's wrong!" shouted the voice. I scanned the room for where the voice had come from and saw that a bloody figure was standing outside the doors. I recognized it and knew it was Lian. "Don't lose hope!" he shouted. "What? How did you live from that execution?" asked Monokuma. "You should never had given me an exit" said Lian. Exit but where? I thought to myself. "You stayed right at the main door... you knew I wouldn't aim those starts there!" said Monokuma. "Heheh, now you know how I lived! Now let go of Floyd! I'm still alive aren't I!" said Lian. "Puhuhuhuhu, but the deal was to do a mass execution. You being alive doesn't change it, I'll just have to execute you with the others" said Monokuma. "How about a deal, let's revoke the vote and let's do the trial again... If I bleed out during the trial, everyone dies... if we find out the killer before then- you don't need to execute them and all of us get to live" said Lian. "Hmmm, that's an interesting deal... Alright! I accept it, let's redo the trial!" said Monokuma.

As Monokuma said those words, most of us stood up and went back to our podiums. Amy and Ralph were still on the floor. Micheal went to them and then dragged them to their podiums. I looked to my right and saw that Lian was pressuring his wounds and he still looked like he was bleeding bad. He looked to me and then spoke. "Don't worry, I will not die not yet, my friend" he said. I mustn't waste Lian's blessing, I'll make this right! I thought to myself. "Let's go back to our alibis" I said. "The four of us are innocent-Nya!" said Juli. "So okay the only people suspicious enough to cause the murder would be people on the other island. Am I correct?" said JC. "Yes that's correct, so I do think Zane, Carol, Adine and Amy are the most suspicious" said Carmel. "I've got an alibi, it can be proved by Monomi" I said. "Wait guys let's think through, we can narrow it down easily with one thing" said Lian. He then coughed out blood and clenched his fist. I thought deeply about it and then realized what Lian is talking about. "You mean the people who went to the main island, am I correct?" I said. "Yes that's right, meaning Adine is our suspect" said Lian. "Umm, why me during the time Rashi went missing. All of us were split up except me and Amy" said Adine. "No I think it's only you" said Lian. "Why are you so dead set on me being the killer. Do you guys all want to die?" said Adine. "Our testimony can be proved by only one person" said Lian. One person can help us, I think I may know who Lian is talking about. "The person you're talking about is Amy, am I correct?" I asked. "Yes that's correct, *cough* she can prove once and for all this situation" said Lian. I looked towards Amy who looked very terrified. "Don't be scared Amy. If you can answer the question, then we can all live" I said. Amy then composed herself and became serious. "Okay, I'll answer all those questions!" she said determinedly. "Good, now my question is that did you really meet with Adine?" Lian asked Amy. "Why do you need to ask? It's obvious I was with her" said Adine. "Shut up fucker! I don't want to die so let's hear her testimony" said Ralph. Adine just grew silent and had an annoyed look on her face. "I remember being with her-" Amy was interrupted by Adine. "See I'm innocent" said Adine. "I'm not yet done... I remember bent injected with something and I fell asleep" said Amy. "You injected her with sedatives?" asked Bido. "No no no, that was just her medicine" said Adine. That doesn't feel right... I think Adine is lying. "No that's wrong!" I shouted. "I remembered what Amy's medicine was" I said. "Okay tell us doc" said Adine in annoyed tone. "She's taking medicine to down her fever and I know that they were pills. I remembered she had some pills on her table" I said. "Umm I just changed her medicine that's all" said Adine. No I think that isn't right, I thought to myself. "She's lying-Nya!" shouted Juli. "What?" exclaimed Adine. "I asked her if there was an easy cure to my fever and she said pills were the best way. I also asked her if a shot would be better and she said it would be ineffective" said Juli. "That's straight up wrong" said Adine. "No she's onto something, I know that injections are only administered if the patient is in critical condition" said Zane. "I remembered when I last visited Amy, she was already looking better" I said. "Hngggg, No you're all wrong" said Adine in an annoyed tone. She was sweating a bit and her face was red. "This still doesn't prove that I did it" she said. "No the trial is about who did it not how they did it" said Carmel. "I wouldn't be satisfied unless proof is given" said Adine. I will prove your the killer, I thought to myself. "Hey guys I'll give this idea again, if Lian didn't detonate the Monorail... who did and how?" asked JC. This should help prove why Adine is the killer, I thought to myself.
