The plane rolled to a halt and Coulson waved me out. Ward was still no where in sight. He was probably brooding in his cabin.
I had a UC Berkely sweatshirt over my vest, so that hopefully people would just think I was a chunky college student, not a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent in Kevlar. Walking as fast as I could, the sweatshirt idea suddenly seemed idiotic. I was drenched in sweat and my golden hair, which was pulled into a tight ponytail, stuck to the back of my neck.
Gasping by the time I reached the abandoned warehouse, I ripped the sweatshirt off and stood there, panting. Heat isn't good for me. I get all sticky from sweat and all claustrophobic and BAM! I break a random window on accident. I've gotten better at contolling my powers, but the occasional outburst is still catastrophic.
Holding my flashlight and my gun up, I entered the run-down building and scanned everywhere. Nothing. Then I heard something in the rafters. It sounded like a whisper. Then a light nearly crashed on top of me. I jumped back and hissed(yes, I hissed....it's normal...shut up), pointing my light and weapon to the ceiling. A dark figured swung down and landed to my left. Whirling around to see them, I came face-to-face with the most gorgeous blue eyes I had ever seen. I stared for a bit, taking in the stranger's features.
He just stood there, a fearful look in his eyes. His eyes. They were the coldest, peircing, bluest of blue. His dirty blonde hair was unkempt and fell across his forehead. His black t-shirt was so faded and ragged that it looked brown. His baggy jeans were ripped in countless places.
"Hi, um, hi, c-can you n-not point that at me? I really didn't mean for the light to drop, I was trying to fix it so i could s-see you better...but uh, it kinda short-circuited and um, fell", the young man said, his voice hoarse from years of unuse. "I'm Jason, by the way. Jason Thorsen."
"I'm Agent Rogers. If you'll please come with me, I can help you", I told Jason, lowering the pistol.
"Who are you working for?" he asked, eyes narrowing in suspicion.
"S.H.I.E.L.D., and my friends were supposed to me feeding me informationg about you and telling me what to do, but...nothing..." I said, pointing to my ear piece. "By the way, this is kinda my first field assignment and kinda a big deal for me sooo if you could please let me help you..."
"Like S.H.I.E.L.D. could help me! They don't know what it is to have powers! You don't know the burden of it! You'll use me for expiriments and---"
I cut off the ranting boy by punching a hole straight throught the metal wall.
"They might not understand, but I do...and don't you ever, EVER say I don't know the burden of having powers", I growled, grabbing him by his shirt and pulling him along.
Ward was waiting for us when we returned to the plane. He looked like he was about to say something, but a simple glare shut him up.
"I have our guy, Coulson! And something went wrong with the connection to the Hub!" I shouted, throwing Jason into the containment cell.
"You'll be fine", I whispered to the poor guy, trying to reassure him with a smile. He looked terrified.

AventuraI've had this idea for a while and finally wrote about it. In order to get some of the characters and what's going on, it's probably best to watch the Avengers and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
