Kids in the Country

Chapter 1

Katie Holt and her family were a very successful family. They had made many breakthrough discoveries in science. Something bad had happened, and this forced her to be moved to a different location. She would rather not think about it. One minute she was standing along side her brother as they watch a beautiful chemical reaction occur, and the next second, she was forced out of the city. This memory has left her mind and she has already forgotten. But it will be told in pieces.
NOTE: The characters are not mine! I used RWBY names because I didn't have any name ideas.

Katie, or Pidge, was sitting in the back seat of a car and looking out the window. She had to hold a different identity for her own safety.
The grass was a bright green and a few houses were spotted. They seemed like big country house, because they were.

"What is this place? Where are we?" Pidge asked was she looked out and saw the nice country houses.
"Beautiful isn't it?" A young man asked. His name is Jaune. He and his wife Pyrrha had volunteered to take care of Katie because they loved to help anyone. Katie was handed over to them and they took care of her. They were the best as Katie would put it. (Jaune is driving, Pyrrha is in the front Seat, and Katie or Pidge, is in the back seat.)

"Yes. This is where we'll be staying." Pyrrha informed Katie. Jaune and Pyrrha had recently purchased the house for them right before they got Katie. This is were they will live.
"It really is pretty." Katie said as they reached the house.

When they arrived, they unloaded the car and gave Pidge a tour. She loved it. She claimed the room with a window seat. And when the car was unload and the bags/boxes were in the house, Jaune and Pyrrha let Pidge go meet their neighbors. Pidge walked/ran to the nearest house. It was a nice soft yellow and had a nice smell of pie coming from the window in the kitchen. She walked over and knocked on the door.

Pidge was greeted by a boy bigger than her. He was 2-3 years older, but he was a soft, gentle person. He wore a golden-yellow hoodie, (The hood down of course) tan-cargo shorts, and black sneakers. His skin was a nice brown, and his hair was a kind black and had a orange headband tired on his forehead.

"Hello. Can I help you?" The boy asked kindly.
"Hi... I'm new here and I just got here so I thought it would be nice to meet my neighbors..." Pidge said nervously.
"Oh my! How sweet!" A woman that looked like the boy walked up and was shocked at how adorable Pidge looked. The woman wore a nice golden-yellow blouse and had light-tan pants. She wore simple slip-ons and had short, kind black hair that had a slight curl at the end.

"I heard we were getting new neighbors! You must be one." The woman motioned Pidge inside, and Pidge gladly came inside. She could see why the boy was wearing a hoodie. It was cold. The walked to the kitchen on the left and took a seat at the table.
"I'm Pidge, Pidge Gunderson" She shook hands with the other two.
"I'm Nora Garett, and this is my son Hunk Garett."
"My real name is a little hard to pronounce, so I go by Hunk." The boy told Pidge

Hunk's mother got up to continue her baking and left the two to talk. Hunk mentioned that he engineers things and over to bake as much as his mother does. He was gone for a few quick seconds and returned with a little something he was working on. Pidge and Hunk tinkered with the robot and got it to work.

"WOAH! It's working!" Hunk exclaimed as he and Pidge stood to watch it walk around the table.
"Mom come look!" Hunk called as his mother turned around to see.
"My, my! What the two of you little boys can do! I think you two will get along just fine." Mrs. Garett Said as she smiled with them.
"I'm sorry, but I have to go. Can we meet up tomorrow?" Pidge asked as they checked the Apple Watch Jaune and Pyrrha gave her and told her to have at all times.
"Yeah, sure! We can meet at the Rock over there!" Hunk said as he guided Pidge outside and to the Rock between their houses.
"We can meet here at 9:00!" Hunk said as he and Pidge made plans and went their separate ways.
(No one knows about Pidge's real identity so they are supposed to think she is a "he" and they do)

Pidge walked to her house and knocked on the door and Pyrrha let her in. Dinner was ready and they ate as Pidge told Jaune and Pyrrha about Hunk and the robot they got to walk.
"Yeah, and we are going to meet at the Rock right there!" Pidge said as she pointed to the Rock and finished her food.

Pidge was sent to bed and the couple continued to unpack. When Pidge still couldn't sleep, she got up and unpacked. She hung up posters, filled the closet with clothes, organized the desk so it would be ready for her to work on. She made the bed and just messed it all up when she jumped in.
"I can't wait for tomorrow. I made a friend!" Pidge said one last time that night and finally fell asleep.
