Kids in the Country

Chapter 4

Mrs. Garett arose from her seat and clapped her hands together to get everyone's attention.

"Alright now. Lets clean up and then we can go light up the fire pit." Everyone nodded their heads and began to clean.

Pidge looked over to Keith. Takashi had said something to him and he nodded. Then, Keith started picking up the remaining plates, and silverware.

"Oh come on! Of course Keith got the easy job!" Lance complained from beside Pidge.

"I think I would say second-easiest."

"What do you mean?"

"While the adults light up the fire pit, the kids are in charge of cleaning everything else up. And we are the kids." Pidge reassured Lance.

All of the adults were outside and Jaune was about to join them but he went over to Pidge. He got down on one knee so he could properly speak to Pidge.

"Pyrrha and I will be outside. If you need anything, we'll be outside. Ok?"

"Ok."

"Good." Jaune said as he got up and joined the adults outside.

"Welp, lets get this over with." Lance stretched and disappeared into the kitchen to get who knows what and left Pidge alone.

Pidge spotted Keith coming towards her and she motioned to say 'Hi' but he just walked right past and into the kitchen. Pidge sighed and finished taking off whatever was left on the table and wrapping up some left over food. She placed the food in the fridge and cleaned a little more.

Pidge heard a thud and rushed to where she thought it came from. She found herself in the living room area and starring at Hunk, Lance and Keith. Lance towered over Keith like he towered over Pidge, and he had Keith against the wall as he stood there.

While Pidge was in the kitchen, Lance had pushed Keith to the wall and was planning on getting answers to his questions through interrogation. Hunk was making his way over to Lance when Pidge walked in.

"Hey! What's going on!" Pidge yelled a few seconds after starring.
"I've got some questions for this mystery boy and he's got some answers!" Lance said before Hunk could explain. Lance turned back to Keith and Keith just shook his head and pushed Lance off of him. As Keith walked away, Lance threw a punch. Keith turned his head and shot up his hand, and he caught Lance's fist before it hit him.

Keith held his position for 30 seconds and then flipped Lance over. He landed on a rug so at least he could keep his breath.

Keith walked out of the room and exited the lodge. Pidge watched him leave and them turned to Lance, who was being helped by Hunk.

"Ok, two things. First: HE SO GOT YOU!! And second: WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!?!"
"I already told you. He's weird and I want to know why."
"But that's not how you get answers!"
"But that's how it's done in movies!"
"In movies! That's different! I-UGGH! I'm going to apologize for your terrible behavior, and you can finish cleaning! And when you're done, you should come apologize o him yourself." Pidge said as she left the room and exited the lodge as well.

Lance stood up and rushed to finish cleaning so he could get it over with. Hunk helped and they left the lodge.

When Lance spotted Keith, he ran to get revenge. Hunk ran after Lance and tried to stop him, but he failed. Luckily, Takashi stopped Lance with his arm and got a hold of him.

"Lance was it? What's wrong? Why did you run over here?"
"He flipped me over!" Lance pointed to Keith as he turned around at the mention of his action.
"Who?"
"Uh, Hello! The one I'm pointing to!" Takashi turned in the direction of Lance's finger to see who he meant.
"Wait, Keith?"
"Uh yeah! Who else could possibly flip me over?!" Lance was getting out of control.
"Keith! Is this true?" Keith tilted his head and gave that confused-dog look.
"Yes, you Keith. So did you or did you not flip Lance?" Keith nodded.
"He did! Keith flipped me!"
"Keith, why did you flip Lance?" Takashi handed Lance over to Hunk and they sat with Mrs. Garett.

Keith opened his mouth to give an explanation, but Pidge answered for him.

"Lance wanted to know why Keith was so weird, so he pushed Keith to the wall and was going to interrogate him. Keith pushed Lance off him and Lance almost punched him. But Keith did this really cool thing! He turned and blocked Lance's punch right before he could hit his face! And then he flipped him over."

Keith gave Pidge a look of thanks and a thumbs up.

"So, Lance. You got flipped because you were going to punch Keith for answers?" Takashi turned back to Lance.
"Uh-uh...Yeah..."
"Well...What do you think we should do?" Takashi asked the other adults.
