"I've got to tell you something" - her heart leaped. When a conversation started out like this, something really, really bad was about to go down. She felt a choking sensation, and her hand clawed the sheets. It was night and she was just watching YouTube, while missing him again.
The text was from his friend.
"Tell me," she replied bravely.
It took a while to get it out of him, but apparently her online boyfriend was cheating on her. But with whom? When the answer came, it was like a thunderclap.
The room seemed to spin, and her vision grew dark. Her ears started ringing, and she felt like she were floating. The painful pressure of her headache increased, and she felt like screaming. She didn't want to believe what she had just read, but in her heart she knew it was true. All the signs were there. The two of them had been acting weird, and now she was stabbed in the heart from behind so hard, and she wanted to die.
All of those years, those dreams, hopes, confidences, everything they shared, was swept away. She was betrayed in the worst way, her soul destroyed. She would never be the same again.
The phone forgotten, she reached for her secret hiding place. This time, it would be for real. This time, it would be deep.
