Chapter 4: The Showdown

Mark wasn't always alone. Before he left his old school and ended up at a new school, he was very active at his old school. He also had a lot of friends there, but that wasn't all. Mark could've had a girlfriend if the Great Separation never happened. Her name was Athena Walther, and she was not only beautiful, but intelligent, as well. After the Great Separation, she left the old school and joined a new school, where she ended up with some guy named Rick. Mark had never heard of this "Rick" person, and didn't even know what he looked like.

Now, the story wouldn't tell anyone about a certain character's past unless it contributed something to the plot of the story. That's because at least 2 of the meteors were heading towards the houses of Mark's old friends. One of them was Nathaniel Johnston, who liked spending his time reading comic books and learning how to cook. Nathaniel was reading one of his comic books, about a ninja who's hidden in the shadows, but nobody knows why, not even the guy who created the story. Anyway, he was reading one of his comics, when suddenly, a teal meteor crashed into his backyard, very close to the windows. Nathaniel then put his comic down and saw a glove inside the meteor.

Meanwhile, the red meteor ended up with one of Mark's other friends, a guy named George Michaels. George was the opposite of Nathaniel, and even though both of the, were friends with Mark, they didn't get along with each other that much. George was very quiet and rarely talked to anyone. He was very passionate about horror stories and his collection of rare knives. George was busy organizing his shelf, but didn't notice the red meteor crashing into his house and breaking the window. He only noticed after putting the last book on his shelf. There was a glove in the meteor.

The next day, after school had ended, Mark walked out of school. But this time, he noticed something in the hallway. It was some kind of friendly boxing match set up by Mark's school and another school, created as a fundraiser for both schools. This other school was the school where Athena went after the Great Separation. Although Mark was interested in signing up to see the boxing match, he didn't want to run into Athena or even worse, Rick. Mark had no idea who Rick was, and he didn't want to find out, either. Rick could be tougher and stronger than Mark.

Anyway, as soon as Mark left school, he thought he forgot something, but then he saw a bunch of people unconscious, and that was when he remembered: Planetman Pluto was waiting for him. There was a purple light at the nearby gym, so Mark assumed he was waiting there. Mark put on his glove and transformed into Planetman, while running into the gym.

Inside the gym, Planetman Terra confronted Planetman Pluto, who was untransformed. The untransformed Planetman Pluto introduced himself.
"Hello there. My name is Ian Montgomery," the guy said.
"Why..." Planetman Terra said, "are you using these powers to attack people? Don't you know how dangerous these powers were?"
"Yes," Ian said. "Let me tell you something. If you were kicked out of a boxing tournament for not bringing any headgear, you would be as upset as I would be. So when this glove came to me from a meteor, I knew it was the perfect time to have my revenge!"
Planetman Terra was surprised. "You...got it from a meteor?" He said. Planetman Terra started to notice a pattern. The meteor that crashed into his backyard, the other meteor on the news headed for the neighboring school...they all had gloves in them, and they could turn the users into a Planetman.
"Anyway," Ian said, "Let's fight!" He then got out his Pluto glove, and put it on his hand. He then transformed into Planetman Pluto.

The two Planetmen began fighting each other. Planetman Terra got out a sword, while Planetman Pluto kept firing balls of dark energy at Planetman Terra. Planetman Terra sliced down all the dark energy balls, but then fell victim to an uppercut. Planetman Pluto was about to finish off Planetman Terra, but Planetman Terra rolled out of the way and struck Planetman Pluto in the back with his left knee. Then he stepped back, and ran towards Planetman Pluto, finishing him off by kicking him in the head. Planetman Pluto was unconscious.

Planetman Terra was going to show mercy to Planetman Pluto, by taking his glove off, but then, a beam of white light struck both of them. A Caidoz soldier wearing a scarf and no helmet appeared.
"Who the heck are you?" Planetman Terra asked.
"The name's Suvroc, advisor to Lord Caidoz, future ruler of your planet!" The soldier said.
"Those soldiers who blocked traffic and attacked everyone...they worked for Caidoz too...which means I have to fight you!" Planetman Terra said.
"Well, I'm not here for you. I'm only here to collect the gloves." Suvroc said. He picked up the glove and said "1 down, 8 more to go...including yours." Suvroc turned around and stared at Planetman Terra's glove.

Suddenly, there was gunfire. The gym was being locked down. Several men in suits appeared, holding rail guns and futuristic technology. Suvroc got out a scythe and killed Ian. Then he dropped the glove and escaped, as if he was scared of these guys in suits. Planetman Terra knew he had to escape, too. The leader of the men in suits picked up Planetman Pluto's glove, putting it in a small metal container.

Mark was able to avoid the mysterious guys in suits and return back home. He knew that the Caidoz army was looking for these gloves, which came to Earth through meteors. This meant one thing: Mark had to sign up and watch the boxing match at the other school...even if it meant crossing paths with Rick.
