This story takes place before to the canon series, when Sherlock and Jim are in high school. Jim isn't a complete psycho killer yet, and Sherlock isn't as cold and uncaring as in the series. Mycroft and Sherlock are close, and they are capable of showing they care for each other.
I hope you like my story and can put up with my horrible updating schedule, and it would mean a lot to me if you would vote/comment/share with others.
Thank you!!! :)

A loud crash is heard echoing throughout the Moriarty household at exactly five o'clock in the morning, same as every Monday for as long as anyone could remember.
And, right after, just like every other Monday morning for as long as anyone could remember, was the sound of a hand hitting a face and a screamed;
"James I swear if you jump off that bed one more time so help me god I will shoot you in between the eyes with your own damn gun!"
Smirking, Jim replied, "Sister dear, you've said that exact same threat countless times before. We both know you could never kill me."
This was followed by Jenna loudly sighing in defeat and walking tiredly across the hall to try and fall back asleep, slamming the door of her room behind her.
This was perfectly normal for the Moriarty's, as they were used to Jim jumping off of the top bunk of his bed, waking his family and angering his sister, who immediately stormed across the hall to his room and slapped him, threatening to shoot him if he ever did it again. He only ever did this on Monday mornings, because he knew his sister hated this morning more than any other, and annoying his little sister was one of his favourite things to do.
Chuckling, James returned to his bunk bed, sitting on the lower bunk and looking at the screen of his phone, seeing a text from his best friend, Sebastian Moran.
You jumped off the bed again, didn't you. -SM
He smirked at how well his friend knew him.
Obviously. -JM
*sigh* It's the first day of school today. -SM
:'( Goodbye summer break... -JM
Oh well. School's not that bad. -SM
Yeah, but I'll miss being able to annoy my sister on Monday mornings. Even without school she hates them! I think she's been training herself for school Mondays. -JM
Haha. :D I'll see you soon yeah? We're still gonna go early to try and get a dorm together? -SM
Of course Sebby! You're the only one who won't question the gun in my bag. -JM
Glad to know our friendship means so much to you. See you at school you ass. -SM
See you at school. -JM
Jim smiled at his phone as he turned it off, excited to see his best friend again. they hadn't seen each other all summer because at the beginning of summer the Morans were visiting family in America and when they came back there was about one week before the Moriartys went to Ireland to visit their family.
Across the hall, a similar conversation had just occurred between Jenna Moriarty and Arianna Moran.
"Hiya Jen! Did James jump off his bed again?"
Jenna sighed into the phone, but smiled at how well her friend knew her.
"Ugh. Unfortunately. Don't tell him this, but I'm actually kinda glad he did, 'cause I forgot to set my alarm and I need to get James to drive me to school so that I can try to get a good room for us."
"Awwww you put up with your brother for me! And yeah I'm getting Sebastian to drive me to school."
"Well I have to make sure we room together. I don't want someone else to see the knife collection in my bag."
Jenna hears her friend trying -and failing- to hold back her laughter.
"Glad our friendship is so important to you. See you at school bitch."
She laughs.
"See you at school."
She hangs up and starts to pack the last of her things, making sure she didn't forget anything. She and Arianna had been counting down the days until school started for the past month, excited to finally see each other again. Jenna smiled to herself. I can't wait until I get to school.

School.
Sherlock hated the word. For him it meant being trapped in a building full of idiots who hated him because he was different. Not that he cared. He didn't want to befriend any of them anyways, they were too boring. Too ordinary. He preferred to be by himself or with his brother, conducting some sort of experiment that probably wasn't even slightly safe.
Mycroft. His brother. One of the only people in the world that he didn't absolutely hate. Mycroft, his Mum, and his Dad. He didn't care about anyone else.
"Brother mine, do hurry up. You want to get a good dorm, don't you?"
Sherlock sighed and rolled his eyes. What did it matter what dorm he was staying in? If he was going to be sharing a room with someone, it wouldn't matter how nice it was. He would hate it.
"Must I go? I promise I won't blow up any more schools."
Now it was Mycroft's turn to sigh.
"Lock, it won't be that bad. It's just sharing a room."
"Exactly! Sharing a room! No place for experiments, no privacy, and I have to deal with an ordinary person living with me!"
Mycroft sighed again and walked away, knowing there was no convincing his brother that a boarding school wouldn't be as bad as he thought. But Sherlock had made up his mind about Baskerville, and once Sherlock had made up his mind there was no changing it.
