The next morning I awoke with a sudden jolt. I was contemplating whether or not I should go to school; I don't know I kinda don't wanna face Toby even though he feels the same way I do... about the kiss I mean but if I don't go then my mom would probably ground me for life.

I decided I am going to school because I'd rather face Toby then my mom when she's mad, if you haven't already noticed, she could be pretty damn scary when she's mad and if you don't know how to handle her then lets just say R.I.P;  you will be greatly missed.

"15 MINUTES TILL WE LEAVE EMILY!!" my little sister shouted. FUCK I OVERSLEPT! Ok, don't panic you can get ready in less than 20 minutes just time it right.

****

I rushed into my room and looked at the time, 8: 18 a.m. Ok just little less time than usual to get ready but you can do this! You've gotten ready in shorter times so come on, you got this! I said, trying to motivate myself to go faster.

I ran to my closet looking at my decisions but before picking out what to wear I checked the weather.

"Ok its supposed to be 20 degrees but raining most of the morning and a bit of the afternoon." I said aloud.

I decided to play it safe but comfy and wore sweats, a floral crop top and if you haven't noticed I am obsessed with crop tops like I have other shirts but I just love wearing crop tops. Over top I put on a plain blue sweater and Puma shoes. I brought an umbrella with me because I don't wanna get wet.

I wasn't really in the mood for make-up so I just added 1 coat of mascara and my baby lips.

For my hair I just threw it into a high ponytail because really, I am super lazy to do anything special with it. I also wore a ring on my middle finger because why not. Now I am ready.

I sprinted downstairs with everything that I needed and was so happy to find that my mom was just about to leave. "I didn't oversleep!" I tell her with a smug look, "Actually you kind of did but because you're so lazy you just threw on whatever." she informed me completely correct. "Smart ass.." I mumble, "Dumb ass." she mumbles back with an evil grin then walks out the door. Nice mom I've got.. I think to myself while I too walk out the door.

As soon as I get to school the first bell rings which means I have about 5 minutes to get to class.

I rush to class thanking god that I always bring stuff that I need home. I have to rush because my class is on the other side of the building which usually takes me about 10 minutes, 15 if I stop to talk to my friends.

As I'm running I accidentally bump into someone, causing us to both fall and drop our things. "I am so sorry! I was trying to get to Science quickly and I wasn't paying attention while I was rushing but now I'm going to make us both late so again I am really sorry!"  I tell whoever it is I bumped into since I was trying to gather my things while looking down.

"Its fine, don't worry about it." a male voice says nicely and I instantly recognize that its Tobys.

I slowly look up, not being able to say anything else. We just stared at each other awkwardly for a couple of seconds until I remembered I had to snap out of it, and get to class.

I instantly go back to picking my stuff up but at the same time Toby does the same. I try to focus on what I am supposed to be doing until we both reached for the same book but somehow his hand ended up being on top of mine.

None of us moved, we kind of just stayed like that, kneeling on the floor, kind of holding hands. I try really hard to calm my rapidly beating heart but its no use. I couldn't stop thinking that our hands fit perfectly together like they were made for each other but I also tried to push it out of my mind.

All of a sudden the second bell rings so we slowly get up, still holding hands kind of and stare at each other. He then starts to smirk and looks down at our hands like he's daring me to make the first move so being the daredevil that I am, I let go of the book which causes it to land with a loud THUMP on the floor.

After, I look up at him, a smirk forming on my face like I was daring him to do the next move. Instead of letting go of my hand like I thought he would, he just starts heading off to whatever class he has.

"STOP!" I shriek tugging him back. "yes?" he asks, an amused look plastered on his face. "Aren't you going to let go of my hand?" I ask, slightly hoping he doesn't. "Aren't YOU going to let go of MY hand?" he teasingly mocked. I muttered some unkind words before finally letting go of his hand; then I turned and started walking to my class.

A few seconds later I realized someone was following me but I had an idea who it was so I just kept on walking. All of a sudden he grabbed my hand and spun me around. "Look Emily I don't like this.." he told me with a sad expression on his face, "What...?" I said like I didn't know where this was heading. "This," he repeated gesturing between us, "How awkward we are, how we can barely look at each other; what happened?" he asked with an even sadder expression on his face still holding my hand.

"I-I don't know.." I said trying to sound truthful. "Really?" he asked skeptically, "Y-Yes." I stuttered not being able to look at him so I just look at our intertwined hands, "Well let me remind you," he started and that's when I looked at him, waiting," First we went to the beach to meet up with a couple of friends, we played Spin the Bottle, we kissed," he turned bright red as he mentioned our kiss, "then I don't know; things weren't the same.." he stated as he finished, his face was still bright red but now he couldn't even look at me. "It's awkward because you're making it awkward.." I stated, "Em, you know that's not what I meant.." I cut him off then, "I would really love to stay and chat but I've got a class to get to, and so do you." I reminded him. He thought about that for a second then finally he said, "Let's just skip first period because honestly I really don't want to go there, plus when we do finally make it we would be about 25 minutes late which would only leave us with like 15 minutes of class so what's the point."

I had to think long and hard about that one because if my mom found out I'm a goner but I did skip breakfast and I'm really hungry. But if I do go then it would be awkward between us...

"I can't, my mom.." all of a sudden my stomach growled, "Are you sure? You're stomach is disagreeing." he informed me like I didn't already know that. But the awkwardness..

"Come on." he pleaded, "Urggh fine but if my mom finds out I'm blaming it on you!" I seriously informed him, "and I get to choose where we eat." "Fine," he said with an accomplished look on his face, "Shall we?" he asked, holding out his hand for me. I just walked passed him laughing.

When we got in Toby's car I had a bad feeling about this but I am hungry. Toby turned to me with a huge grin on his face, "So, where to?" "Uhm, how about Tims because I'm craving an Iced Capp!" "Ok then, to Tims we shall go."

He started the car and drove out of the parking lot. He cranked the music up and More by Usher was on. Its an ok song but I don't know, I'm not really an Usher fan so instead I took out my IPhone and connected it to his car and the first thing that came on was All I Do Is Win by Dj Khaled.

"Oh so Usher's bad but this stuff's good; you're messed up!" he playfully teased, "Shut up!" I playfully hit him on the shoulder. He just laughed and I couldn't help but notice how he's whole face lit up when he laughed; it was a really nice thing to see.

The rest of the ride there was silent, but a good silence and my "shitty" music, as Toby put it, playing in the back.
