Lola's POV

Two weeks ago, my life changed drastically. I'm now in living in America, with my aunty Sarah, who recently came in to my life. We have bonded so quickly, she's more like a sister to me than a guardian. We live in a small detached bungalow but has a loft room, it has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a living room and an office. Its not much but it's nice and cozy. Since I have moved in, Sarah and I went shopping and bought so many clothes, I start school tomorrow and they don't have a uniform. Also I have signed up to a gymnastics club, I used to dance back home, so I'm quite flexible.

School tomorrow. I don't know how to feel. Excited, scared or happy. It's a fresh start. But I'll be the only new girl, the only British girl.

Will they all hate me like before?

I have made five rules for this new term, to avoid trouble:

1~ Don't let anyone, especially popular people or boys, borrow any of you equipment. Since they will break it, loose it or won't return it.

2~ Boys are a waste of time. All they want is to loose there virginity first. And then there'll break your heart and leave you. Well maybe not all boys are like that, but most of them are.

3~ Join as many clubs as possible. So I can meet a variety of people, and hopefully make new friends.

4~ Don't bring up the past. Since they don't need to know. And it's an sensitive subject.

5~ Finally, don't get involved with the popular people. Because I'll just become a bitch and end up everyone hating me.

Running up the stairs to the loft room, (my bedroom) I decide to lay my clothes out for tomorrow. I lay out; deep blue skinny jeans, a pair of pink frilly socks, an over sized white t-shirt, my grey hoody and my white converse.

"LOLA, TEAS READY!" My aunty shouts.

"Coming!" I reply as I run down the stairs, joining her and Derek in the kitchen. Derek is her boyfriend, who she has been seeing for about 3 years now, they both have always wanted children but are not able to have them. I feel sorry for them to be honest, Sarah said she was so excited to have me around, to experience having a child in the house. They are thinking of adopting, which I think is great. They would be great parents.

My thoughts were interrupted by Derek asking if I would like carrots. I just nod, as he puts them on my plate. "Derek, what's school like in America?" I ask, eating my dinner.

"Just like school in England I suppose, but you don't wear uniform." He says.

"Do a lot of people get judged, if they wear the wrong thing?" Nervously I tap my fingers on the table.

"I don't know that answer sorry, I haven't been to school in at least twenty years." He begins to chuckle, as he realises his age.

-

After dinner I had a shower and washed my hair, so it's one less thing to worry about tomorrow. I grab a pair of grey material shorts and vest top. I start to dry my hair, then decide to plat it quickly. Wow it's 9 o'clock already! Getting into bed for an early night, I set my alarm for 7:00am. Gradually sleep takes over my body.

-

My alarm goes off repeatedly. I have to force my eyes open as I sit up. School today. As my feet touch the cold floor, I walk into the bathroom and start to run the water in the sink, to wash my face. The water wakes me up, I return to my room grabbing the clothes I laid out yesterday. Putting them on, I roll the ends of my jeans and the sleeves of my t-shirt, not forgetting, to tuck my tee in pulling it out a little. I put my heart shaped necklace on. One of my friends brought me it when she moved away, she has one to. Returning to the bathroom I grab my makeup bag. I like to keep my makeup quite natural, so I put as little as possible on. Applying few strokes of mascara and a thin line of eyeliner. Now for my hair, quickly I fishtail it to one side. Before going down the stairs I retrieve my bag which contains; a pencil case, calculator, reading book and my pe kit.

Opening the cupboard I take a cereal bar, then a glass of orange juce.

Once I had eaten, I brush my teeth, say my goodbyes and walk to school.

-

I arrive at the school. Wow. It's big and so many people. I decide to ask someone where to go.

"Excuses me, I'm new here..."

"That's obvious." They rudely interrupt.

"Do you know where the head masters office is?" I ask.

"You're English!" He screams.

"Yes, but do you know where the head masters office is?"

"Of course I do." He chuckles and walks away.

Great. Now what. I find my feet taking me towards the entrance. I see a teacher walk past. Wait a teacher she'll help me. Attempt two.

"Excuse me miss, I'm new here and I was wondering if you could show me where the head masters office is?"

"Of course dear right this way." She walks away signalling me to follow. We go through many doors until she reaches one labeled 'Head Master'.

"There you are love, see you around."

"Thankyou." We exchange smiles as she goes.

I knock on the door, suddenly it swigs open. Showing a tall tanned man. He's quite young, wearing a suit and polished shoes.

"Hello there, you must be Lola Parker, am I correct?" He asks kindly and invites me inside. I nod slowly and he chuckles.

Yo! So now she goes to school in America! Pleasee vote and spread the word! Think brooklyn is coming in next chapter wooo!
