Lola's POV
School finished at four so on my way home I popped into the local Starbucks and bought a raspberry and cherry smoothie. Whilst drinking my smoothie, I walked home, noticing the group of 'popular' girls who Aapsokna told me about. The group consisted of three girls who all the boys fancied.
Ella - she is the richest person you'll ever meet. But she a real snob, she doesn't like you unless you're wearing labeled clothes. She carries around a manicure kit and is always filing her nails. She carries a Gucci bag on her arm, attempting to push people out of the way for Ellie.
Georgia - is the bully of the group. Everyone is afraid of her. As well as being a bully she makes out with every boy she sees
. And finally the leader of the pack Ellie.
Ellie's the girl who everyone wants to be like. She's really pretty but wears way to much make-up. In fact, they all do. They have about two things in common with each other, they all have really bad gravy lines and all fancy Brooklyn Beckham. I think they only fancy him since none of them have been out with him. Apparently he has this 'no dating' rule.
At the moment all there doing is staring at me and giggling, which means there talking about me, also known as bitching. There starting to walk towards me, thank god my house is just down the road. Picking up the pace as I hear them shouting my name.
"Yo! New girl!" Georgia shouted.
"Listen to me!" She continues her rant.
I turn around to see what they want, when the Ellie's right in front of me. Shit.
"Hey," she smiles, "you must be Lola, am I correct?" She asks. I can't form any words do I just nod.
"Little shy are we? Well, let's keep it that way. Now, you listen to me, stay away from Brooklyn, he's mine and you'll never be able to get him, okay?" Ellie stares at me for a response.
"I don't understand why you're telling me this. I don't even know the boy." As soon as I speak I regret it. I don't want to be known as cocky. Not on the first day.
"Well, he certainly knows who you are. All he went on about at lunch is, how didn't she know who I was? Do you know she's from England? Have you heard her speak? And he was staring at you for the whole day! He's meant to be staring at me for god sake!" She exaggerates. I stay quiet.
"So, just don't speak to him or y'all have us to deal with." They all give me evil glares, turn on there heels and walk away. Well, that was pleasant. Entering my house I walk upstairs and jump on my bed. Today has been a long day.
-
It's been two days since the incident. I told Aapsokna everything, all she did was laugh and told me how pathetic it was. Today I have history. Which means I sit next to Brooklyn. History's after lunch, so it should be fine.
Me and Aapsokna decide to sit inside at lunch because it's raining.
"Right okay, there are specific places where you can and can't sit. I know it's sounds stupid, but if you're found sitting with the wrong sort it could be the end of you social and school life." She looks so serious, "as I was saying there are nine tables; the nerds who always revise at lunch, sport freaks who only ever talk about sport, cheerleaders deciding new dances and deciding who hot or not, goths who only looked depressed and never talk, eco-warriors, they are mad about the environment, popular people where all the bitching takes place, the left over table they all talk about party's there never invited to, the hot boys who just look perfect all the time and then there's us. The only normal and nice people you'll ever meet." She begins to chuckle.
"I guess I'll go over to the left overs then bye!" I make a joke as she grabs my arm and tugs me down to sit besides her.
All of lunch was spent on people asking me questions about England, and why I came go America. To be honest it was kind of exhausting. Great, now for history.
Just before, I went to my locker to put all my books away and took the ones I needed for homework, I don't really want to be carrying around dead weight, "so you like me then?"
"And why do you assume that?" I snap back. Already I am fed up with this boy, the teacher hasn't even arrived yet.
"Because you sat next to me." He chuckles.
"Don't I have to?" If I don't I moving the hell out of here!
"No," with that I stood up and started to walk away, when I felt I tight grip form around my wrist pulling me back down. "But I want you to stay."
"Why?" I quickly ask.
"You're different to the other girls, and besides I don't want some looney sitting next to me." He huffs.
"I'll take that as a complement then." I begin to chuckle and he joins in.
Me and Brooklyn end up chatting all lesson since we had a cover teacher. I found out various things about him which apparently no other girl in the school know. He made me laugh and chuckle several times, I thinking my opinions are starting to change on this boy.
The end of school eventually came by, English was such a drag. Walking outside my tutor room I spot Brooklyn leaning against the wall searching for someone. As I walk past, warm grip on my wrist tugs me back once again, I feel electric tingles shooting down my arm. What's this feeling? I've never had it before.
He speaks in a low husky voice, "Hey, I thought I could walk you home."
"I'm alright thanks." I turn on my heel.
"I wasn't asking for permission or an answer Lola Rose." He smirks at my annoyance of my full name being spoke. We begin to walk though the corridor and everyone's eyes follow us.
We visited Starbucks once again. I think this will become a daily routine for me. I get the usual smoothie whilst Brooklyn gets a hot chocolate even tho it's summer.
"Why did you get a hot drink? It's summer?" Rolling my eyes he replies with a rather clever response, "it actually cools you down faster than a cool drink, because that just refreshes you where as a hot drink make you sweat, and the sweat cools you down. Seriously, don't you pay attention in class?" He winks.
We reach my house and exchange numbers, saying goodbye I close the front door behind me just as my phone buzzes.
*Hey Lola Rose ;)*
Big update for me! Hope you enjoy it and please vote and spread the word :)
