[ Chris's POV: ]
I stumble through the large crowd of people staring at me like I were some kind of monster, I glared back at them with hatred. I wanted to get home faster... away from all these people staring at me like I were some freak so I pushed through everyone until I came to a halt. A pair of deep blue eyes were staring back at me.
She had smooth black hair that waved down to her chest, I examined her pale face and she smiled. I was shocked that she actually smiled, I thought she'd think I were a freak. I notice her eyes were a bit watery as she smiled.
"A-Are you alright?" I murmur,
"Uhh, yes. I'm fine." She looked at me as if she didn't expect me to talk.
"A-are you sure?" I couldn't take my eyes off of her, she was ...beautiful. The girl nods weakly and hides her face with her soft hair, I see a tear dribble down her pale cheek. I felt awkward and didn't know what to do so I handed her a tissue to wipe her tears,
"Have lunch with me." I demand, I couldn't stand to see her upset even though I didn't even know her name.Once we get to the cafe on the block, we go to order,
"What would you like?" I ask,
"Erm, nothing-"
"Two smoothies, thanks." I tell the guy at the cashier.
"But-" She whispers,
"You have to have something."
We grab the smoothies and go to sit down in the outside area of the cafe, we sit face-to-face from each other, she's staring down at the table.
"So.. uh, do you have a name?" I break the silence, she looks up as if she forgot I were there.
"Oh, I-I'm Lauryn." Her voice is shaky, I wonder what happened to her and why she was crying before.
"I'm Chris." I announce, she smiles weakly while I take a large sip of my smoothie and she just spins the straw around hers.
"Don't you like it?" I ask,
"Y-yes, I uh just don't really have an a-appetite at the moment." That was the longest i'd heard her talk this whole time.
"Are you sure you're okay?" I ask just to make sure.
"Y-yeah, I'm good." she's lying again but I shrug it off, she's never gonna tell me anyway. It had been about an hour since I had met Lauryn, it was 5:00 and the sun was setting.
"I should, ah, get going-" Lauryn mumbles,
"Oh sure, would you like a ride?"
She shrugs,
"I insist" I stand up and gesture her to come with me, she hesitantly walks over towards me and we walk to my van. I open the door for her, I then race around to the drivers seat and jump in ready to go. The ride to her place was silent, I felt awkward so I turned on the radio. It blasted my favourite band 'Bleeding Through' both of us jumped from fright from it being so loud.
"I-is that Bleeding Through?" she perks up a little,
"Yeah it is, you like 'em?" I grin as she nods.We get to her house, she seems hesitant to go in, she just stares blankly at it. As she does that, I quickly jot my number on a napkin from the cafe and slip it in her bag without her noticing.
"You ready?" I wonder, she nods.
"Uh, thank you. Bye." She smiles weakly and I wave.
I examine the eerie looking house for a few minutes before I leave. It's an old two-storied cottage surrounded by pine trees and nature, the wood is rotting on the house and vines are crawling up the sides of the windows. The house looks as if it were abandoned, It's also quite isolated, she has no neighbours and she lives 30 minutes away from town.---
Hi everyone!! This is my second go at 'Ghost In The Mirror' because I'm not happy with the first one so I just decided to make a whole new one ( just incase anyone was wondering ) but yes, this is a Chris Motionless fan-fiction if you haven't guessed already, thank you for reading and I'll update once I get at least 5 votes. Also it would mean a lot if you commented your thoughts on this chapter, maybe give me ideas for the next chapter.
