Chapter 2

I walked into the Simulation room as Matt was laughing at one of Shaundi's jokes, even though i doubt it was that funny.. "So Matt, What is the plan for today? Do you want to come with me to get something to eat?" I asked hopeful for a yes, Matt looked up from his and Shaundi's conversation. "Uh Sure, lets go shall we?" he said getting up from his chair and following me into the simulation pod.

We landed in front of Nobody Loves Me, a clothing store and continued to walk down the block till we got to a quaint bakery. As we walked inside, Matt opened the door for me causing me to blush and mumble "Thank you." The bakery had few people inside so we sat in the front next to the large bay windows. I sat silently, talking occasional glances towards Matt "So...How is your day going?" I asked as a attempt to break the awkward silence, "Quite well, but why did you ask me to breakfast? I thought you hated me?" He asked as the young waitress interrupted "Hello, What can i get you this fine morning, Ma'am?" She asked looking at me with her pen ready "Coffee and French toast, please.", The waitress nodded as she scribbled onto her small notepad then turned to Matt with a cheeky smile on her face "And what can i get you, handsome?" Matt blushed staring down at the table in embarrassment "Ill have a coffee and muffin, please." The waitress gave one last smile towards Matt before walking away. I huffed softly, frowning at the table causing Matt to look up at me in concern. "Whats wrong, Aliza?" he asked relaxing his hand on top of my hand. I blushed looking down at our touching hands "Nothing, i just dont like how that bitch was talking to you." Matt chuckled softly, the sound almost relaxing to me in a way. "She was only flirting, why would that bother you?" I sighed, opening my mouth to answer but the Waitress walking towards us with our food interrupted me. The Waitress set our food in front of us causing Matt to remove his hand from on top of mine and we quietly thanked the Waitress. After Matt's hand left mine, my hand felt cold and his left a tingle on my skin. There was complete silence as we ate,  until the Waitress came back with our bill which Matt insisted on paying. "You dont need to pay, Miller." I growled getting slightly annoyed with our argument, Matt rolled his blue eyes taking the bill into his hand. "Let me pay, you saved me from that dreadful ship so this is the least i can do." I sighed giving up on the argument and mumbled "Fine, youre lucky i like you." Matt looked up from the bill quickly at me, "What do you mean you like me?" I blushed looking for a way out of this situation "Uh i meant i like you as a friend." Matt smiled, his perfect white teeth glimmering in the light. "Aw, I like you as a friend too!" I smiled back at Matt, yeah thats what i meant...As a friend...

We collected the change and left the bakery heading towards the gate to the ship, We walked side by side towards the gate. I occasionally glanced down at our hands inches apart, just wanting to feel his hand in mine again and to feel the tingle on my skin as he touches me..

Once we got to the ship i decided to relax in my room, leaving Matt with the rest of the crew. I layed on my bed staring up at the grey ceiling thinking of the only thing i could think of, Matt. I cant get my mind off him and i dont know why, I cant help but think of his soft midnight hair resting upon his forehead and his blue eyes that are like parts of the ocean. Could i possibly like the computer nerd? 

No way.

Suddenly a knock interrupted my thoughts, "Doors open!" I yelled as a young man came through my door closing it behind him. "What do you want, Matt?" i asked as he sat on the edge of my bed, looking back at me "I just wanted to see if youre okay, You seemed a bit off this morning. Also what was with you getting mad at the waitress for flirting with me?" I stared off at the grey metal floor unable to look into his sparkling blue eyes. "I-I think i like you, Matt.." What i said caught Matt off guard as he began to stutter tremendously "Y-You like me? Me, Matt Miller?" I nodded still looking down at the floor, Matt gulped "I-I think i like you too! But we have to keep it from the crew, its unprofessional and they would not approve." I looked up at the blue eyed boy, scooting closer so that my face was inches away from his. "Im okay with that." I whispered, leaning in towards his face. Matt copied, our lips brushing softly against each other. A loud bang made us jump apart as Kinzie stormed into my room "We have an emergency, boss." she said firmly before walking out of the room. I sighed looking over at Matt "One day, ill be able to have a god damn love life." Matt chuckled and followed as i walked out of the room.
