Hello everyone! I have a disclaimer to put here. I have decided that I am going to create the family of Matthew and Stephanie from scratch. I am well aware they both have wonderful families but I am going to use the ones I create. One it will help the narrative that I am trying to write. The second and most important thing is the family's privacy. I don't want to make anyone uncomfortable and write about them. So, I decided to do this option! I hope you enjoy the chapter.
Stephanie loved being a chemist. She loved going into the laboratory every day to learn about the world around her. There was so much she could discover! She thought the joy of being a chemist would be the job that she would end up doing for the rest of her life. She learned that life had other plans.
One day during work she got a phone call from her mother. Stephanie's Aunt Valentine had died due to mysterious circumstances. Stephanie was close to her aunt. Her aunt was magical in Stephanie's eyes. Aunt Valentine was an adventures individual with a personality that sparkled. If Stephanie had to describe her she would describe her as a character in a children's book. She was fun, creative, full of life, and down to Earth. She was always having adventures and teaching people about the good of the world. She always seemed to have these life lessons that she would teach those willing to listen. It was so hard to believe that she was dead. Aunt Valentine died single with no kids to call her own. Stephanie always found this odd as her aunt was her favorite person in the universe. Instead she took Stephanie under her wing. She was like a second mother to Stephanie growing up. They spent many days in her toy shop. This was home to many of their adventures together. Stephanie loved that toy store and considered it her happy place. There she could be anything and do anything as long as she worked hard enough to reach her dreams.
Memories flooded back to Stephanie as she sat at her lab station going over the phone call over and over in her head. Her mother called her to talk about that was in the will of her aunt. Stephanie's aunt specified in her will that she wanted Stephanie to run the toy store. The Treasure Chest Toy Store was now hers. Stephanie left to tell her boss, Mr. Johnston, to tell him about what she just learned. He was sad to see her go but supported her in her decision to run the store. She only had to finish that week so she could have one last paycheck.
After work she went to the store to buy some supplies. The toy store was located in New Jersey. She lived in North Carolina which meant she would be moving. Lucky for her it was also in the will that Stephanie would also get her aunt's house which was extremely convenient. Stephanie got home and immediately started to work on packing. She was sad about the loss of her aunt. The tears she had been holding back at work and at the store finally were able to fall as Stephanie put her things into cardboard boxes. She knew her aunt wouldn't want her to cry but she couldn't help herself. She would miss her aunt every day and the thought of being in the toy store without her aunt's presence crushed her heart. However, if this was her aunts wish then Stephanie would drop everything to run the toy store that meant so much to them both.
Chapter two completed! I hope you are enjoying the story. I have exciting plans for this book and I am excited for you all to read it! Also I hope you have a wonderful day wherever you are. On the day I am uploading this it will be my birthday which is exciting? I don't know. I think its cool! Anyway got to run! Bye! ~Gem <3
