Katie's P.O.V
I woke up with the sun shining on my face, glistening through the thin layer of my eyelids.
"Mom," I groaned obviously not impressed, "It's Saturday, please let me sleep," I wrapped the covers around my head, burying myself into my pillow further.
"Well, if you say so" she shrugged, turning around, "Connor was going to take you ice skating today but, if you prefer to stay in here then that's fine," my mom said, taking a few slow steps towards the door.
"Wait, really?" I jumped up, immediately intrigued, "When?" I threw the covers back and sat up in my bed, eager to see my big brother.
"In about an hour or so, so get up," she smiled and walked out, closing the door behind her, seemingly happy that I was so excited to see him.
I couldn't believe Connor was taking me ice skating! It was our thing, but we rarely did it because be was busy a lot and I was too, however no way near as busy as him. There was this really good rink across town that I went to and, I was finally starting to get the hang of it. I rarely fell on my ass which was an accomplishment.
I quickly showered, dried off, dried my hair and put it in a two dutch braids. I quite enjoyed wearing makeup, just for the pure enjoyment of it. So I carefully applied a full face of makeup, with peachy pink eyeshadow and a matching lip. I put on my ripped mom jeans along with a plain white tee with a rose embroidered on the boob, and an oversized 'Frantastic Monday' jumper (just to make Connor happy).
I ate breakfast before returning to do the rest of my morning routine. I had 10 minutes to kill so I grabbed my phone and texted my best friend who lived next door, Brent.
Me: hey b! how's it going?
brenty 😘: Hey dude! Hanging out with the guys, wanna come over?
Me: sorry i can't, Connor and i are going on a brother-sister day!
brenty 😘: Oh. Ok, see ya later then! x
Me: byeee x
Well then, that was abrupt. However I was interrupted from my thoughts as the door bell rang. I got up and opened the door and got swept up into my brother's arms.
"Katie!" he cheered, enthusiasm clear in his voice.
"Connor!" I cheered back in return, giggles laced in my tone. He set me down before continuing to hug our mom tightly. After catching up slightly, we hopped into his car after saying our farewells to our mother.
"So where are we going?" I asked eagerly.
"Well, first we are going to McDonalds because I'm starving! Then we are going to the ice-skating rink across town," he said. As if on cue, his stomach grumbled, quite loudly may I add.
"Okay, but I'm not that hungry so I'll just have a frozen drink and fries," I said as we pulled up into the drive thru.
*at the ice-skating rink*
I watched open-mouthed as Connor sped around the rink, with no fault, and causing quite a few guys, and even girls, to drop their jaws. He stopped abruptly in front of me with a huge grin on his face, arms slightly out at his sides.
"Now you go," he said, his words spaced out in between his condescending breaths.
I glided slowly onto the ice and started gradually gaining speed before turning my foot and spinning in circles. I stopped in the middle of the rink and started hearing some guys whistling from the corner of the rink. I giggled and blew them a kiss, before siding over to Connor. To say he was shocked would be an understatement. Which i can't blame him, because last time we went skating a needed a rail to hold onto.
