Kyungsoo entered the bus and swung onto his seat, breathing in the smoky and stale smell of the air-conditioner. The same blond boy was 2 seats behind him again and Kyungsoo honestly don't know how he felt about it.

Jongin smiled at him nonchalantly and Kyungsoo smiled back. But not before his heart rate increased two folds.

Kyungsoo sat next to Yixing and nodded his head politely. "Hey, do you feel better?" Yixing asked. Kyungsoo shrugged. "The medicine the doctor gave me yesterday didn't really help. I can't do anything about it. He said that I might have to return to the hospital for another check-up soon."

Yixing frowned. "Wait what did your mother say about it?"

"She said that she's tired of paying my medical bills and shes close to giving up - nothing helpful, really."

"Did you tell Baekhyun about it? Um, not to force you or anything but he's a graduated psychologist, you might need to talk to him." Yixing patted Kyungsoo's thigh. "And then maybe you'll get better. Maybe."

"You know," Kyungsoo said, "Perhaps not my only mother is close to giving up too."

-

Jongin slammed his classroom door shut. He had heard everything Kyungsoo said and the whole time he'd be fantasizing about what he would do if he were that brunette boy sitting next to him. Psychologist? Hospital? What is going on?

"Kim Jongin, I dare you to slam that door again." His teacher turned to him with a glare. He muttered an insincere apology before rushing go his seat.

"Are you okay?" Sehun whispered behind him.

Jongin shook his head. "Since when was I ever okay?"

-

Kyungsoo could not think of anymore ways he can talk his mother through. He had been hit at, screamed at, cursed at, and thrown out of the house. He can't possibly have anymore ideas, no matter how innovative he was.

"Hey." He turned and Jongin waved at him. "I was just...passing by. Are you okay?" Jongin's eyes widened when his eyes scanned his body. Kyungsoo hugged his arms, feeling insecure. "I fell." Kyungsoo thought he saw Jongin's eyes flash with pain before smiling it away.

"Oh I hope you'll recover soon. If you need anything I'll be here okay?" Jongin smiled.

"Oh-okay." Kyungsoo could not possibly figure out what he would need from Jongin, but thought that he should give this pretty boy a chance. He seemed pretty lonely, after all.

-

Jongin felt like Sehun had caught the lovesick virus as well.

"You're not yourself lately." Jongin mentioned one day during lunch at college. "Hmm?" Sehun barely looked up from his ramyun.

"I don't know how to put it. You just look different than before."

This time Sehun looked up. For the whole week, he had spent his time in class daydreaming about Luhan and somehow he looked forward to going home to see him.

"What do you mean?"

"Nevermind. Anyways, I thought about getting a boyfriend and-"

"What?!"

"Don't need to be suprised okay? You know how I am attracted to guys."

"What's his name?" Sehun found himself gripping his chopsticks.

"His name is Do Kyung Soo. I met him recently."

"Are you serious? And you didn't tell me before?!"

Jongin shrugged "It was a complicated affair really. And a really personal one."

Sehun's face fell. "I thought you would tell me everything. No secrets, remember?"

"Like I said, It's complicated." Jongin sighed at Sehun's pouty expression. "Hun ah, look. I promise that I won't hide anything else okay? I'll buy you food after school."

Sehun smiled slightly, already looking forward to adding a point to the never-ending list of Jongin's broken promises.

-

Jongin felt displeased with his lie. He hated the idea of not dating Kyungsoo, so he created the idea one-sidedly. He hoped that this rumor wouldn't reach Kyungsoo's knowledge, because how embarrassing the outcome would be frightened Jongin.

On the other hand, Jongin felt something was very off with Kyungsoo. Sure, he had no lessons of palm reading and face reading but he knew that something went wrong in Kyungsoo's world. Kyungsoo seemed older than when he first saw him on the bus 7 months ago. He seemed grayer, paler, eyes darker, bruises brighter. He just saw Kyungsoo's mother throw him out and that confused Jongin even more.

Jongin shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts when a knock on the door seemed to vibrate through his house. Or maybe that no one ever visited him and the knock kind of surprised him a little.

He opened the door to find a small and lonely figure picking at a loose thread on his knitted blue sweater.

"Hey...got a spare room?" Kyungsoo asked.

"Yeah." Jongin said on impulse, standing aside to let Kyungsoo in.

"I'm sorry for this unnecessary trouble, it's just that, my mom threw me out again and Yixing's house is booked for the night by his other friends so...I came to you." Kyungsoo looked down shyly.

Jongin felt amazed at this thoughtfulness. He never thought he would pass by as a thought in someone else's mind. It felt wonderful.

"Sure. You're free to stay here anytime. But just one thing..." Jongin said, moving behind Kyungsoo to close the door.

"What is it?"

"I don't have a spare room."
