America's Point of View
This is great news. This is absolutely, superbly, definitely, infinitely great news. Even now, I'm barely hopping out of my shoes in my excitement to tell Maxon.
I feel warm, soft hands against my eyes, and I immediately know who it is. Only he has hands so hard - rough? - yet caring and gentle.
"Maxon!" I squeal. His hands drop from my eyes, and I turn around. "Hey, Your Royal Husbandness."
"Hello, beautiful." he says, guiding me over to a plush sofa. We sit down, and I lean against him comfortably, his arms wrapped comfortably against my waist. Forget underground bunkers; in Maxon's arms is the safest place you can be.
"So, how are you? You seem stressed." I say as his fingers run through my hair, tugging on them gently.
"Yes, actually. Something is going on. I came here to tell you about it."
"Oh," I pause. "In that case, what is it?" I snuggle more comfortably beside him.
"New Asia has sent us a letter stating we should meet here!" I'm not looking at him, but I can almost hear the grin he's wearing in his voice.
"Oh my gosh! Really? This is amazing!" I babble. "Perfect timing, really. Just when I find out! This is excellent news! It fits right in line with - oh. Erm," I trail off, twiddling a lock of my blazing red hair in my fingers.
"In line with what?" Maxon pulls me closer, and I bend my head slightly down so that everything he says leaves a wisp of breath that tickles my neck.
As much as I like that, I gently pull away. He looks at me weirdly, and I know that this is the time. I take a deep breath.
"Maxon, I'm pregnant!"
