I positively have no idea how I am managing, but I must be under the protection of God, because surprisingly, I am doing quite well. I have, so far, successfully made it through everything that had happened during the past 8 months.

And in this week, starting today, are my due dates. Guard security is tighter, as there are still a few harsh attacks from the Southerners. Somehow, Maxon and I can't lay a finger on whatever the problem is.

I mean, come on, we had removed the chastes and made allies with New Asia, what more did they want? Democracy clearly isn't the problem, either, seeing as the Northerners had achieved tha-

THUD.

What the...?

"Maxon, what's going on?" I turn to face my husband. It's only seven in the morning, and already we seem to be experiencing an attack. The walls are shaking violently. I hear a gunshot from outside, and it sends chills down my spine.

Even the ceilings are shaking now, and bits crumbles from its material is now falling on our hair in a fine powdery dust.

"Southerners," Maxon says grimly. "Stay in the hideout. Bring the midwife with you. Don't come out unless summoned, okay?" he instructs, his face creased with concern for my well-being. My heart melts.

"O-okay. Stay safe, okay?" I pleadingly look into his eyes.

"Don't worry about me," he whispers, leaning closer. He kisses me deeply for a few seconds before bending back up. "Stay safe, okay? Do as I instructed. Take care of the baby. I love you!" he calls before rushing off, leaving a security guard with me in the room.

"Please call for the housewife." I tell him, and he nods, speeding off into the distance.

I take note of things while waiting for the guard's return. Today's attack seems like the usual. Since this certain kind of attack happens every four months or so, the palace is prepared for and with everything. The food is stocked in bountiful numbers in the secret hideouts, along with toiletries, medicine, and other comforts.

"Your Majesty, the midwife." the guard says, panting as he returns with middle-aged looking woman.

"Come here, and hurry!" I beckon to the lady to come with me to a side of our room. The midwife follows quickly

Swiftly, I hit the hidden panel on the wall which opened a door to a hidden tunnel to which both of us enter. When we are both inside, I hit a panel inside the tunnel, and the door slides closed.

There is, as usual, a small flight of stairs located there, leading to a small room.

Three small beds line the right side. A small bookshelf is on the opposite side of the room, and the cabinets are nailed onto the wall in the middle, next to the fridge.

Suddenly, I sway, experiencing immense pain and dizziness. I groan and place a hand on the wall for support.

"Your Highness, please, as much as possible, calm down." the midwife soothes, gently rubbing my arm, which helps a lot.

"Okay, okay, okay..." I mutter, taking deep breaths. "It's okay. I'm fine -"

I speak too soon and am cut off - by a wet and throbbing sensation between my legs.

The liquid flows down and pools around my feet. And then comes the pain.

Oh, dear God, not now.

Hiya! Sorry for the late update - we've been very busy with school projects and practical tests lately, so our time together on Wattpad is limited :(

So much for our promise to write frequent updates! But anyways, wtf! 2k+ reads? It's a small number compared to other stories on Wattpad, sure, but BRO - 2k+ reads! *throws party*
