Chapter 3: Trust

*Chloe's P.O.V*

"What's wrong baby girl?" Cameron asked.

I played with my hands, trying to figure out if I could trust him or not.

"Did they tell you why I was in the orphanage?" I ask quietly.

He nods.

"I just... I'm scared of... of being abused again."

He sighs. "We will never hurt you, you can trust us okay?"

*Cameron's P.O.V*

Chloe starts trembling, so I instinctively wrap my arms around her, but her trembling intensifies, and I think I've scared her more, but she soon calms down and hugs me back.

"Thank you Cameron." She says.

I just smile, and continue holding her.

"Are you hungry?" I ask.

"No."

"Come on, you have to eat something."

"Cameron, I'm not hungry."

"Please."

"No."

I sigh.

I turn her so she's facing towards me. "You trust me now right?" I ask.

She nods.

"Well, then trust me when I say you need to eat, please you can't starve yourself."

She smirks. "Only if you carry me."

I get off her bed, and bend down so she can hop on my back.

"To the kitchen!" I yell, running down the stairs.

*Shawn's P.O.V*

"Alright guys, thanks for watching, I hope you enjoyed, bye!" I say, turning off my camera.

"To the kitchen!" I hear Cameron yell.

I laugh to myself, then follow him downstairs.

When I arrive downstairs, I see Chloe standing in front of the fridge, with Cam behind her.

"There's nothing I want Cam." She says.

"Hey, we had a deal." He says lightly.

"Could I have an apple?" She asks.

"Of cou- oh hey Shawn!"

"Hey Cam. Hey Chloe!"

Chloe smiles, but doesn't say anything.

"Will you be okay in here for a minute, if I go talk to Shawn?" Cam asks Chloe.

She nods and smiles.

"Okay Shawn... here's the thing." He says, once we're out of earshot of the kitchen.

"She doesn't trust males easily, because her dad used to abuse her... bad. I finally got her to trust me, and I got her to eat, but it will probably take a while for her to adjust to everyone else okay?"

"Yeah, of course, I get that!"

"Okay great." He says, giving me a bro hug.

*Chloe's P.O.V*

After I pretend to eat my apple, Cam comes back into the room.

"Chloe, none of the other boys are gonna hurt you, I promise."

"I know that, I just... it'll take a little while for me to get used to them."

He nods. "Yeah, that's okay."

"Can I go swimming?" I ask, referring to the pool outside.

"Sure, just be careful." Cam replies.

After I change into a bathing suit, I grab a towel and go back to the pool.

I swim around for about 20 minutes, and then look up to see a diving board.

I smile to myself, and climb on it, getting ready to jump in.

3...2...1...jump!

Oh my god, this end is so deep. I suddenly can't remember how to swim! I start screaming and thrashing around in the water. "Helppp!" I scream, struggling to stay afloat.

*Hayes P.O.V*

"Hmm... what should I have for lunch?" I think aloud.

"Helppp!" I hear Chloe yell from the back yard.

I run outside to the backyard, to see her thrashing around in the water. I immediately jump in and drag her towards the surface.

"Hey, Chloe, your okay, your okay." I tell her, setting her on the ground.

After a few minutes, her breathing is back to normal.

"Can you please bring me inside?" She asks quietly.

I quickly nod, and pick up her trembling body.

After she's safely upstairs in her room, I go downstairs and tell Cam what happened.

*Cameron's P.O.V*

After I heard about what happened to Chloe when she was swimming, I decided to talk to the guys.

"So it seems that Chloe trusts both me and Hayes now, so that's progress." I tell the guys.

"Yeah, she let me pick her up." Hayes adds.

"Well it's pretty late, we should get back to our house now." Jack J. says.

I nod, and Jackandjack, and a few other guys leave.

I say goodnight to the rest of the guys and head upstairs.

I go into Chloe's room, and see that she's asleep.

I pull the covers up higher, and kiss her head, while whispering "Goodnight Princess."

As I'm leaving the room, I hear her mumble "Goodnight dad."
