It had been four whole days since Kenji met Hael. Four whole days since the truce. Four whole days since the rumors were declared false. Four whole days, four whole days. Yet Kenji couldn't stop thinking about it. What would the chief think? How will I pull this off? What if we're forced to fight? The thoughts and doubts kept coming. He hadn't told a soul, but he kept thinking that someone, somewhere might find out and blackmail him. Luckily he had the scratch mark where Hael had pinned him down.

Hael was thinking the same way. If my parents find out... I'm doomed.  Her parents were extremely patriotic, and believed that if it would harm their country, it was a blasphemous thought.

This would be a blasphemous thought.

The next battle came sooner than they thought. Kenji ad Hael both had their names called. They both went onto the battle field. And they both saw each other. The jade dragon and brown nekojin linked eye contact. They dashed to each other, like they were going to fight, and then Kenji had half-screamed half-whispered, "We have to go!" Hael was astounded. "But how?" Kenji looked at her like she was an idiot. "I can fit on your back." It took a moment for Hael to realize how stupid she was acting. "Alright then, I'll try and see if I can fly out of here without anyone-" She was stopped there by Kenji starting to climb on her. "Hey- Watch it- THAT'S A SENSITIVE SPOT." Hael was screaming the entire time Kenji was getting settled.

When Kenji finally got in a spot that was okay for both him and Hael, she took to the skies, flying to who-knows-where.
