Mallory is a junior in high school. She's funny and talented. She plays soccer, writes, reads, and most of all, sings. She has a younger sister (Hayden) who she likes to torture in her cynical ways. Mallory's life will forever change when a talent agent comes knocking on her door.
Chapter 1
I was sitting in the living room watching Falling Skies with my best friend, Carly. The characters on the show were fretting about an incoming alien attack, but truthfully, i wasn't paying attention to the plot. Carly was tending to Niall on her "Date One Direction" app, so she was a little preoccupied.
I walked to the computer and pulled up Youtube. I punched in my search and clicked the first result. I spun around in my chair as the music started and eyed Carly. Her head snapped up as soon as Harry said "Give you this, give you that". We sang the words at each other, jumping up and yelling when the chorus started.
One Direction was definitely our favorite band in the entire world and we had dance parties to their music virtually every day.
The song had just gotten to my favorite part when the doorbell rang.I stopped dancing and got immediately angry. How dare somebody interrupt a 1D dance party? I paused the song and Carly into her chair, looking disappointed.
I yanked open the door, interested to see the culprit. Nobody ever came to our door.
A middle aged man stood in front of me, dressed nicely and looking somewhat official.
"Mallory Jones?" He didn't really ask, it seemed as if he knew who i was. Smiling, he extended his hand.
I hesitated before shaking it.
"I'm afraid that I don't know you.." I said in response. He chuckled and handed me a business card. it read "James Smith" and said he was a talent agent.
'Here's the deal, Miss Jones. One Direction's record company thinks that they'd be a bigger hit and appeal to more audieces if they had a female singer in the group. And after a lot of youtube searching, we found you."
I waited for him to go on, I was still trying to process what he had said.
"So in short, One Direction needs a girl, and they want it to be you."
