Chapter 3 Part 2: The Friendly Stranger

"Kaito! what are yo-ahh!" she was cut off by the feeling of Kaito licking her neck, followed by the pain of his fangs sinking into her skin. "Kaito!?" Sudden realization hit her. Kaito wasn't a normal demon, he was part vampire. "Kaito! Let go of me!" Yuuki screams. That's when a guy from the shadows runs in and grabs Kaito by the shoulder crushing it with his bare hands. Causing Kaito to let go,then the man throws Kaito Into the air. The man then pulls out a blunderbuss and fires large chunk of shrapnel. Kaito summons a barrier to block the attack the impact of the shrapnel shatters the barrier launching Kaito into a tree branch impaling him from the back to the stomach. The man then pulls out a curves blade on a small stick, the stick lengthens, and the blade unfolds into a scythe. Yuuki musters enough strength to yell. "Stop!" The man collapses  his scythe and grabs Yuuki's now unconscious body and walks into the forest.

After the fight Kaito calls Phillip. "Phillip I need you to hurry over I got attacked by some guy and Yuuki was kidnapped" Kaito says as he coughs up blood. "Alright I'll be right over." Phillip says he runs in out of nowhere and takes Kaito off the branch. Kaito gets to the ground and he is not healing as fast as he should. When he tries to stand he limps and falls over he notices a sharp pain in his right leg. "Phillip there is something in my right leg I cant bend over to get it out." Kaito says. "Alright where?" "In the calf." Phillip removes a small blue gem fragment from Kaito's leg. "That looks like what that gun thing fired." Kaito says. "This gem cancels out powers of demons, vampires, even mages like me so no wonder you weren't healing fast." Phillip explains. Kaito heals completely after the blue gem fragment is removed. "Anyway you lied to protect the fact that you are a vampire and lost control of yourself, biting Yuuki in the process." Phillip says. "Eh how did you know?" Kaito asks surprised. "I can read memory data when I want. Anyway seems like that man was rescuing Yuuki from you so I'm sure she is just fine. Don't worry I wont tell Ren." Phillip says. "Thank you!" Kaito was relieved. "I just hope she doesn't become a vampire." "Ehh?" "You are able to turn someone by just biting them you know!" Phillip says. "Crap! If she becomes a vampire Ren is gonna have my head!" Kaito says scared.

The mysterious man had brought Yuuki to a log cabin. He walked inside and placed her on a table. "She is already healing fast. I have gathered enough information to know she is only half demon she shouldn't be healing this fast." he thinks to himself. Yuuki wakes up, she looks around. "Where am I?" She asks. "My house." the man says. "What is your name?" Yuuki asks. He looks to the fireplace. "I'm Retsu. What is your name?" He asks looking back at Yuuki. "I'm Yuuki Ryugasaki." She introduces herself. "Anyway what am I doing here?" She asks one of her ears tilting to the side. "You were bitten by that vampire dog demon and I brought you here after you passed out from blood loss. Anyway do you have a phone on you? If no then I can call someone to pick you up." Retsu says. "No I don't have my phone on me I left it at home before I went to Kaito's house." Yuuki says. "Alright who do you want me to call just give me a number." Retsu asks. Yuuki gives Retsu Carla's number because she doesn't want to worry her brother yet. Retsu calls Carla. "Hello who is this?" Carla asks. "I am Retsu. I have a young lady here whom I believe is your friend. Her name is Yuuki she was attacked by a vampire and so she doesn't run into any more trouble I wanted someone to bring her home. I live in an old log cabin on a hill in the woods." Retsu says. "Alright I will be over to get her and when I bring her home I will explain things to her brother." About 5 minutes later Carla shows up and knocks on the door. Retsu answers the door. "Oh it's you again I see your horn hasn't grown back." Retsu says upon seeing Carla. "Y-You, b-b-but how? Y-Your only h-human!" Carla responds. "I'm immortal do to an alchemist experiment gone wrong. When we first met I had already exceeded human life span expectations. I was around 100 years old at that time. Anyway bring this girl home safely." Retsu says. "Alright. Yuuki lets go." Carla says to Yuuki. "Alright." With that Carla brings Yuuki home.
