I fell in love with a boy at the rock show (An ATL/Zack Merrick FanFic)

Pt 3

We parked the car, grabbed our bags and headed straight for the already forming line in front. Even walking up to the venue there was a sense of excitement in the air. On the way in unsigned bands lined up to talk up their music and hang out with the passersby. I make it a point to stop and talk to one guy with a batman shirt and a soft smile.

            “Did you get a chance to see the new movie yet?” I said, pointing to the bat symbol on his chest.

            “Not yet! We haven’t had our day off city yet this week. Was it good?’ He eagerly asked, his smile widening to a full blown grin.

“Well I’ll always be a sucker for the second movie but I did love the way they ended the trilogy. Totally kick ass!” I responded, matching his excitement.

            “Awesome! Hey would you like to listen to our band? We’re hoping to actually be on stage next year” He lifted his hand and passed me a pair of grey headphones.

“Sure, I love finding new music outside the venue” I slipped the headphones over my ears and let the beat kick in, bopping my head along with the melody. “Wow this is really great! I think I’ll definitely be seeing you guys up on that stage next year. Any chance I can grab an EP?” His eyes lit up.

“Of course! I’ve got some right here. You’re the first person to ask for one today…I really appreciate it” He was beaming by this point and traded me an EP for a crisp five dollar bill.

“One more thing? Can I get a picture with you? You know, for when you guys get famous. I want to say I knew you when” I playfully nudged his shoulder. I swear that smile was going to be plastered to his face for the rest of the day and it made me melt. He agreed to a picture and I passed my camera over to Courtney to get the shot.

“Alright, smile on three! One, two, three!”  The flash went off on my camera and I felt a pair of soft puckered lips on my cheek. No sooner did I notice that did my face flush hot red and Courtney’s jaw dropped.

“I’m sorry! That was too forward of me, I shouldn’t have done that! I’m sorry!” The boy stammered and shifted his weight away from me.

“It’s okay! Really don’t worry about it. I was just surprised!” I smiled and grabbed his elbow, pulling him back to me. ”Next time though, I’d love to know your name” 

He chuckled a little before saying “How rude of me, my name’s Braeden. And what would be you name beautiful?”

I blushed again before saying, “Ashley, my name’s Ashley.”

“Well Ashley, I hope I see you in there later? You going to catch New Found Glory?”

“Obviously! I’ll look for you there.” I said before thanking him and turning to leave.

“One more thing! Flip the CD over, there’s a pretty awesome track listing on this EP” he called to me. I flipped the CD over to see a sticky note reading “Txt me? ***-***-****” I looked back at him, still flashing that smile of his and I simply nodded back before skipping off with my friends. Did that just really happen? It was confirmed my Courtney’s squeal.

“Ashley! He gave you his number? Oh my god! Good for you! You go Glen Coco!” She exclaimed while nudging my side. Courtney was always the flirt in our group of friends so the thought of me getting a guy’s number before her took her back a bit.

“All I did was talk to him, it wasn’t a big deal…”I clammed up and looked down at my feet. I was pretty shocked myself. Being the shy girl was my specialty and the fact that Braeden even kissed me was enough to put me up on a cloud.
