In the bathroom stall she finds safety. Checking to make sure no one is around, she ducks into the large stall at the end of the line of stalls. It is as far away from the door as possible, which is how she wants it. She considers this stall more of a home to her than her own intoxicated house.
She throws her bag on the floor, careful to make sure her precious belongings don’t fly everywhere or into the enemy’s hand. Lowering the toilet seat lid, she sits down and slowly drags her bag closer, preparing herself. She digs through the bag’s contents and finally finds what she is looking for. She squeezes her hand shut tight, the edge of the newly found object biting into her palm, breaking the skin. Victory at last, she thinks with a smirk.
She lowers her prize down onto her arm and flinches in pain as it cuts into her skin once again, this time with more force. The pain only lasts momentarily, though. She watches as little roses of blood spring to life on her arm in small little rows, making it look like a little garden. Her pain is replaced with happiness, her worries erased. She is content now as she unlocks the stall door and leaves the bathroom, head held high. She's joyful and knows this feeling will last a while. The feeling only a cutter ever understands, she thinks, smiling.

Random_Logic's Message:
I know that sometimes things in life can seem like a lot to handle and can be really painful, but I assure you, cutting, self-harm, and suicide are not the way to go. Things can, and will get better. If you are ever feeling extremely depressed or have thoughts about ending your life, talk to someone. Let it out. And if you’re uncomfortable talking to someone you know, and would prefer anonymity, call the National Suicide Prevention LifeLine at 1-800-273-8255, where there is always somebody willing to help you. There is always someone to turn to, someone willing to listen. If you’re having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, talk it out. I promise it will help. Stay strong. Things can only get better. I’m praying for you all.
