"I don't want to be alone, I want to be left alone."

Lucas's Point Of View
A new school term has begun, and here I am skipping first period and strolling down the school hallways. Ashl ey and Blake's names line the newspaper articles hung up on the walls. "Student of the year in the whole America!", "Grades top all others in the National Examinations!", "Scholarship to Harvard University!", Blake and Ashley were the most perfect students our school had, unlike me of course. They had always been the most popular students with both the teachers and students, Blake was captain of the football team and Ashley was the captain of the cheerleading squad. And me? I was the rebel, the one who defied everyone and everything. I get straight As, but I wasn't the top student. No, I was the one who always skipped classes and talked back to my teachers, nothing like them at all. The teachers hated me, and I was pretty much invisible to the rest of the school population. Suddenly, my thoughts were interupted and someone walked into me. I lost my balance and fell onto my butt with a thud.
"What the heck? Watch where you're walking!", I shouted at the person and looked up.
In front of me stood a girl with long blonde hair and forest green eyes. I had never seen her in school before.
"Why excuse me, it wasn't my fault you just decided to stand there and stare at the walls!"
Her yell snapped me back to reality. I started to burn with anger, and got up to my feet towering over her.
"You knock me down and you don't even apologise? Instead you rebut me?"
The ring of the school bell interupted my words and the hallways started to flood with students.
"Well, thanks to you instead of being able to skip school, I now have to attend it.", I continued with a scowl, brushing past her to head to my next class.
The periods dragged by aimlessly, and finally the long awaited lunch bell rang. I ran to the canteen, to the normal table where my friends and I would sit. The boys were all there already and I took to a seat next to Calum who had already bought lunch, which was pepperoni pizza and coke, for me.
"Thanks Bro, I'm famished!"
I started wolfing down my food, when the girl who bumped into me suddenlyy caught my eye.
"Hey Ash, you know everything and everyone in this school right? Who's that blonde chick?"
Ashton, who was sitting opposite me, turned around to look at the girl.
"Her? That's the new girl, Janelle. She just transferred here today and I think she's in the same level as you."
Janelle, what a nice name for a such a rude girl, I thought as I continued eating my lunch. My thoughts were filled her throughout the whole day and though I didn't like her one bit I somehow felt we had some kind of a connection. Like we had something in common most people don't. Janelle, just what secrets lie within you, I really really want to know.
