Bitter Sweet

It's taken two kiwis, three strawberries, and 3 handfuls of blueberries to realize why I like you so much.
I have a sweet tooth, but not for just straight sugar.
It's that bitter sweet taste that's left on my lips after those strawberries. The odd gush when biting into a blueberry.
You're sweet, but bitter in the same sense, not because you in yourself are bitter, but the rough thoughts that scrape at the walls of your brain.
Those thoughts are the bitter that accompany the sweet.
This isn't a love declaration, because you already know how much you mean to me, but more of an acknowledgement.
You are not perfect, and I've never wanted you to be, but you are sweet and selfless. Strong and courageous.
Oh, how I wish I could be half the person you are, because then, maybe then, I'll understand the entirety of your mind.
