It was a warm morning. The early morning sun rays glided in through the window. Your husband Hiccup was sleeping softly next to you. His shaggy hair falling over his face only made him look more relaxed. He wanted to get an early start on the day, but you just didn't have it in you to wake him.
You smiled. It seemed like everything was perfect. The love of your life was sleeping beside you; there was no threat to your home; you had wonderful friends and family. All was well for once. You felt so over joyed that you couldn't stop the big goofy grin that slowly began to take over your face.
"What has made you so happy?" A groggy voice startles you. Though your infectious smile never falters.
"Everything." You say softly to the man who was fighting sleep.
"Oh?" Hiccup looks at you questioningly. You take a moment to appreciate the cute look on his face.
"Everything is just so perfect." You whisper into the morning air. The window in your shared room was slightly cracked, letting in fresh air that smelled of the sea.
"That has a lot to do with you." The green eyed man praised as he brushed some of your (H/C) strands away from your face that seemed to glow in the sunlight.
"Hmmm? How so?" You turned onto your side to look at him better. His eyes never left yours.
"Since you arrived here, things have just been better." You had spent most of your life alone; Traveling the world with your dragon, but all of that changed when you met Hiccup and the people of this land. They were warm and inviting. Although a few of them were wary of you at first, they still greeted you with open arms.
The kindness of them surprised you. Having been on your own from a young age, it was normal for other people to push you around or even kick you out of their villages. Then when you met (D/N), people feared you, or tried to harm (D/N). You turned cold to people. Since that's how they treated you and your only friend.
"I've been better since arriving here. This place, and you, saved me. I was headed down a dark and lonely road, but you pulled me back and showed me a better path." You could see the adoration in his eyes.
"Should you need it, I'll always save you." Hiccup pressed his lips onto your forehead. You had a feeling that today was going to be perfect.
