Author's Note: PLEASE READ!!! Hey guys! So I know this book is On Hold because I had some major writer's block going on, but @the_infinite_author gave me an idea about what to do and I'm going to try it out. But I changed some of the last chapter. I took out Anthony's POV and Hunter's POV and extended Kalel's POV. So you don't have to go back to the last chapter, here's the part I added:
-Kalel's POV- (con't)
I walked through the front door of my house and slammed it behind me. I dropped my bag and sweater to the floor just as Hunter came out of the kitchen, wearing one of my aprons.
Anger boiled up inside of me, just knowing he was the reason I lost my job and my best friend. I clenched my fists as I forced a smile on my face and said as politely as I could manage, "What are you doing in my apron?"
"Oh," He looked down at the powder pink apron with ruffles on the top, "I was just cleaning some dishes and I didn't want to get my shirt wet."
"Yeah, right," I retorted sarcastically. He ripped it off and threw it to the ground, "Look, Hunter, I changed my mind. I can't have you staying here anymore."
"What? Why? Kalel!" He cried, taking a step towards me.
"Hunter, I know what you said. About me being the only person who isn't still holding a grudge against you. But I lost my job today. I lost Charlie as a best friend today. All because of you."
"Because of me?" He repeated, pointing at himself.
"Yes! And quite frankly, my job and my best friend mean more to me than some jock I was acquainted with in high school. So, if you leaving and going somewhere where you'll never see Charlie again will fix that, then by all means, I need you to leave."
"But Kalel..."
"Go!" I yelled. He frowned at me before walking past me and out of my house. I heaved a sigh and closed the door behind him. I turned around and walked up to my apron, picking it up in my hands and looking at it for a little before hanging it back up. I turned around and saw all of the clean dishes piled next to the sink. I shook my head and walked away.
Anyways, I hope you like this chapter and thanks for reading! -rac06h10ael
-Charlie's POV-
I was walking through my apartment building, failing to hold back the tears that were streaming down my cheeks, taking my mascara with them and making me look I was from some horror movie. "Hey," One of the crack-heads called out to me as I rushed past them, "Are you alright, Charlotte?"
"I'm fine, Greg!" I called back as I pushed the door open to the stairs and started up the flights of steps to my apartment. I fumbled with my keys before jamming them into the lock and turning it - pushing my apartment door open and slamming it behind me. I dropped my stuff and sighed.
The apartment was so empty without Hunter. I pictured the night he and I broke up, me following him out of the bedroom and into the kitchen where he filled his bag with the cans of beer. Him telling me that "this is goodbye" and kissing me on the cheek. Just thinking about it made me burst into even more tears.
Just then, there was a knock on my door. I wiped under my cheeks and cracked the door open, seeing my landlord. He handed me a slip of paper. I took it in my hands and unfolded it. It was a notice - if I didn't pay rent within a week, I would be evicted.
