The Assassin

Part III: Waking Up

I groaned and rubbed my eyes. I opened them to see Thor, Peter, Natasha, Tony, and Prince T'Challa standing over me. "What h-happened?" I asked. "You got knocked out by that animal thing that you told us about," Tony said.

"Oh, okay. I-I feel hot," I said. "That means the medicine is working," he said. "What medicine?" I asked. "The one that I injected into you," he said. "You put a needle into me?" I shrieked at him. "Oh, yeah. I forgot you hate needles. Whoopsie," he said.

I laughed, "Of course. What time is it?" "It's... 12:30 pm. It's been a day," he said. "Alright. Wait. A DAY?" I asked. "Um... yeah, I guess. Underoos, can you look after her while I do some stuff?" he asked. "Yes, sir," Peter responded back. Tony walked out of the room to leave Peter and I alone.

"So... what now?" I said. "I don't know. I just have to watch you," Peter said. "Okay, that sounded creepy and wrong," I said, causing him to smile. "How did you get your name?" he asked. "What name?" I asked. "The assassin," he said. "Oh, right. Well, um. Tony found me fighting a man. Like actually fighting a man," I said, "and he said to stop fighting the man and so I did."

~Flashback~

I got into this fight with a man. He said that I stole his baby even though I didn't. I got physical with him and punched him in the face. Before I could do anything else, a man came up to me and said that fighting isn't the best answer. So, I did what he said. He adopted me a few days afterwards. 

~End of Flashback~

"Wow. That must've been hard for you," he said. "It was. But it was the right thing. I didn't have any parents, so I thought, 'Wow. I think I actually found someone that loves me.' But I think Tony only adopted me because I fight so good," I said.

"That's not true," Tony said. "What isn't true?" I asked. "About me not loving you. I only adopted you because you needed help and I care so much about you. If I didn't care about you, I wouldn't have adopted you," he said. 

"T-" "You might wanna check this out," Natasha said. She turned on the news and I was on.
