Chapter 10

Alex

I went to sleep angry and confused I thought this is what she would want. I know it's what I wanted, I mean she's a sweet person I've seen her interact with random kids when we go grocery shopping. She's a natural and so that made me assume a baby would just rock her world.

With how well the business is going, I could run it from home I could finally have an excuse to relax with my wife and kids but it's not what she wants.

While we were sleeping she hugged me in the middle of the night and whispered sorry. I made her think I was sleeping because I didn't want her to let go. I love her with all my heart and if she wasn't ready I needed to accept it.

When I woke up to get dressed for my meeting she was still asleep. I noticed a Walgreens bag on her night stand next to the bed and for some reason it made me furious to know she would really break my heart like that. I quickly got dressed and left.

I woke up to a cold empty bed. Last night I had the most beautiful dream Alex and I had a beautiful girl named Royal, she had the softest skin and the most gorgeous hair.

We moved from Florida and went to Vermont. I'm not sure what was in Vermont but we went there. I was happy married and pregnant with our second child.

Alex came home cooking and being the loveable person that he is. Royal and Alex were inseparable. We were playing at the park when Royal fell and started crying Alex ran to her and I woke up.

I looked over at him thinking this dream would come true if I'd just let the baby grow, all he wants is to be happy. I hugged him feeling guilty and I whispered sorry.

He squeezed me a little to make the hug tighter and I fell asleep peacefully. This morning he left without even kissing me goodbye he must still be pissed.

Alex came back around 2pm and threw on some jeans and a simple t-shirt.

I came back to the hotel to see Grey watching Tv. I noticed the Walgreens bag was gone so I assumed she took the pill while I was out. I changed my clothes and decided we weren't going to stay cooped up in a hotel in Paris.

"You hungry Grey?"

" Yeah"

"Get dressed then we're going to get lunch"

We sat outside of a nice restaurant enjoying the sun shining in my face. Our lunch was awkward and kind of silent but I'm glad he was nice enough to take me out.

Paris was coming to a close and the ending of our trip wasn't what I expected at all. We made it back to Florida and went our separate ways.

I hoped this didn't mean we were broken up he went a week without calling or checking up on me. At the office we barely talked, just worked and went home.

I was still upset with Grey, taking my time and getting space from her. But I guess today she had enough because she stormed into my office slamming the door behind her for everyone to start whispering and looking around.

"I'm sorry!!! Alright Alex? I said I'm so-

She stopped mid sentence and ran for my garbage can and hurled up what seemed like todays lunch and the last two days as-well.When she was done I handed her a napkin. She wiped her mouth, looked at me and smiled.

"I didn't take the pill Alex I'm ready"

I stared at her confused and excited I didn't think she was going to come around. I thought she took the pill weeks ago.

"Baby are you serious because this isn't funny if you're just trying to mess with me to get me to stop ignoring you"

"No I'm not trying to mess with you Alex, I'm pregnant and I want to have this baby I know you will be the perfect father and husband one day so why not. We're not getting any younger we are both financially stable. Let's take a stab at it."

"Oh babe I'm so happy I love you so much I'm sorry for Paris I'm sorry for being rude to you I was just hurt and I promise it won't happen again."

" It's fine now I need a mint because morning sickness is disgusting."

" Oh crap I forgot all about that have you been doing alright? You can come stay with me I don't want you walking around puking everywhere all alone anymore stay the night with me from now on."

" I still like my independence I'm fine Alex. But I'll come over if you plan on giving me a meal."

"Of course I'll cook for my babies"

After dinner Alex ran a warm bubble bath for me and let me relax in it alone. I got up got dressed and got in the bed. Alex curled up behind me and rubbed my stomach all night long while gently kissing the back of my neck.
