The camera pans around the director, a lone man on the =couch called Roger Campbell, watching an episode of Home & Away.
The awe in his eyes shows that he thinks very highly of this program, even though it's really bad. He begins jotting down notes and drawing basic images of the scenes. Roger is very focused.
Finally, he looks up and smiles.
ROGER: This should be a movie!
Camera follows Roger for a side view(at a medium shot level) as he runs off the couch and into his room. Lake Shore Drive fades into the scene as he dashes across the hallway.
Credits are also rolling as he sits at his dimly lit desk and begins to write again.
It is a timelapse with a medium shot at the desk that shows him writing and stacking paper up on his desk.
Then, the time lapse stops and Roger gets up and opens the door outside.
He then hops onto a bike, and begins pedalling down the footpath.
The camera does a tracking shot to keep up with him.
This scene of Roger riding through High Street and all kinds of places continues for a while and then Roger stops at a house and opens the door. (Over the shoulder shot)
The Script Writer, Dave Wright, opens the door as Lake Shore Drive plays in the background.
DAVE: Hey Roger!
ROGER: Dave, I've had an idea.
THE SCREEN FADES BLACK and Take on Me by A-ha begins to play in the foreground as the title of the movie-BEHIND THE SCENES takes centre stage, in a cool font, like the font used at the start of Guardians of the Galaxy. Then, we go back into the action.
DAVE: So let me get this straight, you want to make a movie about a TV Show on Channel 7 that has become complete shit?
ROGER: Don't you dare disrespect Home & Away, but yes, that is my idea.
DAVE: You know what? That is a genius idea!
ROGER: I know, right!
DAVE: So we're going to pitch this to an Australian Filmmaking company, right?
ROGER: Nope. I have a vision of making this movie worldwide.
DAVE: So a chinese filmmaking company? Japanese? Korean? European? Tasmanian?
Dave is now in a private room talking to the camera like in Modern Family.
DAVE: Anywhere but an American filmmaking company would be great. Anywhere else.
Back to conversation.
ROGER: I say we go to the big leagues. I'm planning on pitching this idea to a big American Filmmaking Company.
DAVE: Great! (Over positively)
Dave in private room.
DAVE: (sighs loudly)
Back to conversation.
DAVE: So, we should probably think of a storyline for the Home & Away Movie.
ROGER: I've already got you covered. I worked on a huge stack of ideas back at my house. They're here in this backpack.
DAVE: Let's have a look then.
Roger in private room.
ROGER: I really hope Dave likes these ideas. I tried to make it very authentic to Home & Away.
Back to conversation.
Dave reads some of the papers.
DAVE: So you want me to write an intro to the movie where an alien comes out of a hole in space and the surfers have a surfing competition with it?
ROGER: Yeah, pretty much!
Roger in private room.
ROGER: Like I said, this is going to be incredibly authentic to the greatness of Home & Away. This one is for the fans all across the world.
Dave in private room (Alone).
DAVE: I don't think that Roger realises that Home & Away has no impact in America.
Back to conversation.
ROGER: Also, I was wondering if you could possibly throw in a couple of characters from Neighbours, and make the ultimate crossover.
(Camera zooms in on dave for an extreme close up shot, whilst Roger's voice slowly fades out.)
DAVE (VOICE-OVER): What the heck am I doing? This is perhaps the worst idea of all time and I haven't told him to stop. There is no way that this idea is ever going to work in America. And it definitely wouldn't be huge over here in Australia either though. This man is out of control. I have to tell him to stop.
ROGER (VOICE FADED FULLY BACK IN AND VERY CLEAR: By the way, you know how my dad is really rich? It turns out that he is also a huge Home & Away fan! He says he will give us a small loan of $180 million.
DAVE: Wait... what?
ROGER: Yeah, he is a huge fan of Home & Away!
DAVE: Why would he give you this money though? No offence, but he knows you've never made a good movie, right?
ROGER: No. I've convinced him that I made Star Wars VII- The Force Awakens, The Dark Knight, and also Harry Potter, the books and the movies.
DAVE: Your dad is really gullible.
ROGER: Nah, he's just deaf.
DAVE: So how did you convince him that you made all of those movies so that you could get $50 million?
ROGER: He's also blind.
DAVE: So you stole it?
ROGER: No! I just took all of the money he won in the lottery without him looking or giving me permission!
DAVE: You stole your dad's money!
ROGER: I'll give you $2 million dollars if you write the script and keep silent.
DAVE: DEAL!
Low angle shot/close up of the two shaking hands, and then the scene fades to black.

Humor{SCRIPT} One man has a dream. To make the greatest movie on earth. The only problem is that his idea is terrible, he has no money, and no studio wants to distribute his movie. Looks like he's gonna have to con his way out of this.
