Everyone was in the stands, teachers and students alike. You felt slightly nervous as you, Ron and Hermione pushed through the crowd, some refusing to sit because they were too excited.
"You think they'd let a few people through," Ron grumbled as you frantically searched for somewhere to sit.
"Oi! Over here!"
Your head snapped up to see Neville, Seamus and Dean up the the top row, waving at you. You gave a nod to them, then lead Ron and Hermione to join them.
"Thanks." you said as you sat down inbetween Neville and Dean. Hermione sat beside Neville, then Ron joined her, sitting on the outside of the group.
"No trouble at all," Dean said absentmindedly with a flick of his wrist. His eyes were trained on the Quidditch Pitch, excitement bursting out of him.
"Do you have the banner?" Hermione questioned, looking expectantly at the three boys.
"Of course! Who do ye think we are?" Seamus said with a devilish grin. He reached behind to bring out a folded, slightly ripped sheet that Scabbers had ruined. The six of you had decided to surprise Harry and show your support for him on his first match by making a large banner out of the sheet. It read "Potter for President", and there was a large Gryffindor lion underneath the bold words. Of course, Hermione, being the smart witch that she was, had charmed the sheet so that the paint flashed different colours.
Ron motioned for Seamus to pass the corner of the banner to him, since he was on the end of the group. You, Neville and Hermione ducked as Seamus attempted to toss one side of the sheet over to Ron - only Dean hadn't ducked, because he was too focused on the field, waiting for the players to come out. The sheet enclosed around him, blocking his view of the pitch.
"Oi!" he yelled, his voice slightly muffled by the fabric covering his face. "What was that for?"
"Yeur the one who didn't duck, ma boi." Seamus retorted, laughing as he lifted the sheet off of Dean. Ron reached over and took the end of the banner. Together, he and Seamus lifted it up so you, Neville and Hermione could sit up once again. Then you each reached under and held a small bit of the bottom of the sheet so you could all wave it and scream when Harry came out.
"Do you think he's going to be okay?" you asked suddenly. You couldn't help but feel afraid for Harry.
Last night, you hadn't been able to fall asleep what with the encounter with your limping Potions teacher, and the information Harry had accidentally obtained about the three-headed dog and Snape, so you had snuck out of the Common Room and made your way to the staffroom. Everyone else was asleep, but you did have to get past Mrs. Norris and Filch. You had successfully made it into the room, having opened it with the unlocking charm Hermione had taught you. There, on one of the tables, was Harry's copy of Quidditch Through the Ages. You had considered opening it and reading it to find out what all the craze with Qudditch was about, when you heard footsteps. Terrified, you had leapt under the table with as little sound as possible and waited for the footsteps to grow faint. Only, they didn't. Suddenly, the door was opening and an audible hiss was heard.
"Where are they, Mrs. Norris?" you had heard Filch's familiar raspy voice coo. "Where is the student that dared to be out of bed at this hour?"
Your breath hitching, you had trained your eyes on the old, worn-out slippers that were nearing the desk you were hiding beneath, and tried your best to make no sound. Just when it seemed everything was going to be okay, as Filch was now leaving, your own body betrayed you. Your stomach had let out a loud bubbling noise as a result of lying on the cold stones for so long. You had cursed inside you head and Filch's slippers walked back over to you.
