~Lance's POV~
Black swirled around me and I appeared on a hillside. It was dark except for lights of a city in the distance, a long road in front of me leading to it. Billboards lined the sides of it, advertising shows and ads and other things. What really captivated me was what was above me. Twinkling dots lined the deep black sky, with a large silver disc high above the huge clump of tall buildings which I assumed was the moon.

I saw metallic creatures on black circular paws speeding towards and from the city, steam rolling off of their behinds. I tried flying to get faster access, but to no avail. My wings were gone. And so were my claws and... horns.

   Oh no.

I starting jogging towards the city, the tall buildings slowly towering above me. I looked down at my hands as I slowed down to a walk. My skin was a light brown tone of color, and I had no claws. I started freaking out, seeing I had no means of defense. I was wearing a grey shirt with blue sleeves and a blue collar, a green jacket, jeans, and shoes.

A cool breeze swept across the streets, ruffling my hair. I walked for a few minutes, nervously looking around at all of the humans, wondering if I could find this Keith Gerald Kogane. I'd have to find him eventually, right? All the other demons that retrieved the mortals came back with the correct ones every time.

I walked past buildings and signs and crowds of people before I ran into somebody.

"Oh, I'm so sorry!" I backed up to see who I ran into. They looked to be a middle-aged mortal female, with shoulder length light brown hair and eyes with round glasses. "It's fine, really, don't worry." The woman bent down to pick up the book she dropped.

"Hey, uhh... just wondering; is this Los Angeles?" I asked. She straightened back up and gave me a confused look. "No..?" She sounded worried. "Are you foreign?" She questioned. "Yeah, I guess." I answered her, not having a clue about what that word meant. "But what do you mean no? Where am I then?"

"You're in Las Vegas. Los Angeles is in California, we're in Nevada. Lucky for you, Nevada is next to California. I just signed out of my hotel and am currently walking to my car to drive to California. I could give you a ride and drop you off at Los Angeles, if you want." A wave of relief hit me.

"Yes, please. Thank you so much!" I kept thanking her on the way to her "car". When we got inside, I had some trouble strapping myself in. She started up the machinery and we started moving. I looked outside of the window. Everything was speeding past me, almost a blur.

After a few minutes, the woman talked again. "By the way, I never got your name." I turned around to look at her. "Oh, um, it's Lance. What's yours?" "It's Katie, but most of my friends call me Pidge for some reason." She answered.

"How long will the ride be, Pidge?" I asked her. Her eyes didn't move from the road. "Depends. Where are you heading?" "The.. airport.. in Los Angeles?" I uncertainly said. "Ah! LAX! Alright, it'll take maybe about a few hours." I didn't know how long an hour was, so I leaned my head against the window and hoped for the best. I closed my eyes and before I knew it, I fell asleep.

Oh my god I am so sorry guys, I've just been procrastinating about this for no reason because, I don't know. I literally have no excuse I am so freaking sorry. A.D.D. does that to you and it's the most annoying thing. I'll try to update more, I just... haven't been in the mood, you get me? Anyways, I'm alive and well, and I'm back on track. Hopefully.
