We All Start Somewhere

The only way I can explain how crazy that day was is by telling you just how normal it started out to be. There was the usual daily routine of getting dressed, eating breakfast and going to school. I was the typical only child, got good grades and took an interest in the lame pop music of my generation. I was still exhausted from studying for my exams the night before and a part of me was worried about what to wear that Friday for a party. Typical right? All this normalcy ended quite abruptly right after I went downstairs to eat breakfast. There was an unusual silence in the air and the kitchen was empty. I looked everywhere for a sign of my parents. Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Not even a note saying that they had gone out. Suddenly I heard the sound of muffled voices coming from my father's study. I was just about to open the double wooden sliding doors, when I heard an unfamiliar voice coming inside and the nervous tone of my father and mother speaking out against the man.
"No! You can't possibly be serious now!" My father retorted.
"Chris, calm down now." I heard my mother say to him.
Again I heard the unknown voice speak more clearly.
"Damn right I'm serious. I'm not very fond of the idea of one of my lesser employees taking out two million dollars from the company's funds. Then I discover that he's unable to pay it back?!"
My father sighed.
"Please lower your tone my daughter is here and might hear you."
I tensed up immediately at the mention of my presence.
"Your daughter listening to our conversation will be the least of your worries if I don't get my money by the end of this month."
Suddenly the sound of footsteps approaching the door got louder and I ran around the corner and up the stairs to avoid confrontation with my father's infuriated employer. My hand covered my mouth as my heart beat out of my chest and I tried to process what i had just discovered. My family was in debt of two million dollars and I had no clue what would happen if we didn't come up with the money. The sound of the front door opening and closing snapped me back to reality and i walked downstairs to the kitchen trying to look like nothing had just happened. I couldn't stop feeling anxious and worried the whole day. On my way home from school another unusual event occurred, someone sitting on a park bench in a dark hood was watching me. It sent a chill through my spine and I never walked home as fast as I did then. As soon as I was home and locked in my room I turned on the radio and an announcement sounded through the speakers.
"...Police say he is suspected to be somewhere in the area although no one can be too sure. The infamous young criminal that went missing five years ago is yet an arising threat so keep a lookout."

At that time, a criminal on the loose was the least of my worries. I knew that my family would be ruined if someone didn't get the money. It wasn't the kind of thing that I could earn in a week either. It would take months, even years for a high school student to come up with a million. The only idea I could think of was crazy, and daring. Nearly impossible to pull off. I would have to rob a bank.
