Prologue: Hope Abandoned Part 2

I dodge the build-a-bear rejects while checking behind me to make sure Yuta is alright, smashing in the metal skulls of the robot bears when I need to. Eventually we make it to the stairs leading up to the roof with only a few scratches here and there.

Is this guy some kind of lucky charm or something?

Brushing that aside, we run up the stairs and I lock the door, give Yuta the steel rod and run to the fence surrounding the roof.

Come on,there's gotta be somewhere we can escape from...

"F/N?What are you doing?"Yuta calls out to me while keeping an eye on the door as something starts pounding on it.
"I'm trying to find some way to get down from here, what does it look like?" I respond. I swear I hear him mutter
"you don't have to be so uptight about it..."

I sigh and turn around to face him.
"Sorry, it's just that most people I meet either try to kill me and take my supplies, die after a few moments of meeting them or even..." I shudder a little as I turn back towards the fence and recall the memory.
"Try to trap me and use my body for...Personal benefits."

..............

"...I don't think I wanna hear that story."
"Trust me, you really don't."
I spot a dumpster filled to the brim with rubbish bags.
We could probably land on that and not die...I think.

I look at my left arm, then to Yuta (who looks extremely anxious now that the banging on the door has gotten louder.
That's one sturdy door...

I finally look back over to the dumpster and loudly sigh, getting Yuta's attention.
"...We don't have a choice. Yuta, I've got our escape route right here!" He jogs over, gives me back the rod which I place into the rucksack and notices the dumpster I'm staring at. "A-Are we going to jump and land in there!?"
"Yup. Beggars can't be choosers, you know?"
I start to climb over the fence. Yuta gives a worried grumble and starts to climb as well.

We clear the fence and stand with a quarter of our feet hanging off the edge and one of our hands gripping the fence for support, my bag hanging off that arm. I hear the pounding on the door get louder.

I start to sweat and get second thoughts.

What if it isn't as soft as it looks? What if the bags are filled with needles and screws? What if one of those bears are hiding in there? Those sorts of things.

Out of nowhere, I feel something warm close around and grip my hand. I look over to see Yuta with a face filled with worry. It's easy to tell he's scared. Normally, I'd make some comment about him being way to touchy, but this feeling of someone else being there with me and in need of my help as much as I need their's... It's a feeling I haven't felt in a long time.

I give him a sincere smile to try and reassure him that I'm here for him, and it seems to work as he shoots me back a slightly less stiff smile.
"Alright, we jump on three." I tell him. He nods, looks forward and closes his eyes. I proceed to do the same.
I take a deep yet shaky breath.

"1..."

The pounding on the door stops for a second.

"2..."

I hear something puncture the door. Probably one of those things trying to break down the door. Yuta's and my hands tighten around the others while we stop holding onto the gate.

"3!"

As we both jump I open my eyes and hear the door break down and bears go "Upupupupu...", not realising that we already escaped from them.
As we fall in the air I maneuver so that both of us fall in, even going so far as to have Yuta fall on top of me.

That may not have been the best idea.

As we land, Yuta accidently lands on my left arm. I resist the urge to scream in pain. As Yuta opens his eyes, he gets off of me and releases my hand (not noticing me stiffen in pain), peeks over the edge of the dumpster and looks around to make sure none of those bears are nearby. He ducks back in and looks over to me.

He sees my left hand dripping with pink blood and the tie covering my upper left arm also bleeding out.

"F/N! Your arm!" He shouts. I do a sharp exhale. Due to the fact that I'm holding an ear piercing scream my voice comes out a little higher.
"C-Calm d-down... I-I'm...Fine..." I say through clenched teeth. He rushes over to my side and undoes the tie around my arm. He's horrified by what he sees. I can't blame him. My arm has a deep gash in it, showing off a bit of muscle and bone.

He looks like he's going to throw up.

In order to take his mind off it, I decide to try and crack a joke. "Heh... I look like a real... Dump, don't I?"

............

"This is no time to be making jokes!"
"Alright, alright...I've g-got some pain killers...And water in my...rucksack. C-Could you get them out for me...And tie up my wound?...Heh...Heheh..." Taking pauses to catch my breath.
He complys(ignoring my pun) while getting out the steel rod(a very good idea I wish I had asked him). He helps me down the pain killers, ties my tie back around the wound, peeks his head back out and spots a hospital not far from where we are. He informs me and helps me out of the dumpster.

We slowly make our way to the hospital, being careful to avoid the build-a-bear rejects with Yuta supporting me with his free arm due to the fact that I was in extreme pain to the point that my eyes were starting to water.

We eventually make it to the hospital, and when we walk in, Yuta sets me down on one of the seats in reception and I tell him to barricade the entrance to keep the bears out. He does as I say and carefully barricades it to make sure it's as secure as possible. He then checks the room to make sure it's safe.

Huh. He's really taking the initiative.

I'm snapped out of my thoughts when Yuta calls out to me,
"I'm going to check the rest of the hospital out." He stands by the door way, obviously ready to go.
"Okay, but while you're up there, try to find... maybe some beginning doctor's book on how to treat deep gashes." He nods and rushes off.

..........

This feeling... I once again sigh. I guess having Yuta around covered up this feeling. I thought this feeling was something that I'd gotten used to, even since I was just a kid...

I feel...
Alone.

Wait... Kid..?

My mind flashes back to when we were going to the hospital. I remember seeing what looked like kids wearing helmets that looked like those build-a-bear rejects...
Maybe I was just seeing things. It was pretty hard to see after-ooooouuuuh.......
I start to feel dizzy as my vision begins to blur.
May...Maybe a small nap wouldn't...
Next thing I know, I'm starting to drift to unconscious as I hear Yuta call out my name.

Game Over.

A/N: It's a lie!

I hope you don't mind the British vocabulary, as that vocabulary is what I'm most used to with writing.
Yes, I am aware that this chapter contains many gay vibes, and trust me, it wasn't intentional.
Next chapter should be the end of the prologue, and you might even be able to see the guy who I know most Dangan fans will have thought of during that dumpster jump scene(which also happens to be the most gay).
We also might get learn a little more about F/N!

Oh, one last thing!
I may go back and change some things in previous chapters as the story progresses.

Arrivederci!
