Was it normal to have the jitters?

Shaking all over?

The feeling of nausea that just wont leave?

The zipper is stuck, I haven't gained any weight, but...it just wont zip up.

My hair looks like a damn mess. It's a frizzed mess, it wont straighten, nor will it curl properly.

The zipper still wont go.

Christ Almighty, where are my shoes.

*Knock Knock Knock*

"15 Minutes till Showtime sis."

I turned to look over at Kyle. He looked all nice and fancy in his suit. He was smiling till he saw me. A furrowed brow replaced the handsome smile,

"I'm going to send in Donna, and Elena. You look like shit. No offence."

"None taken, it isn't my WEDDING DAY or anything."

"Sorry, but you just....you're so panic-y. You look like you're about to have a stroke."

"My zipper wont zip, I can't find my shoes, and my hair is a mess. Not to mention I can't find my waterproof eyeliner, or my garter belt."

"Are you at least wearing underwear? Since you've seemed to forgotten everything else."

"I'm wearing underwear....I think...wait....yeah. Yeah I have underwear."

"Here, let me help you with your zipper."

"Thanks."

Who knew all it took was a steady strong hand to zip up my dress. I was worried he'd end up ripping it. I was wearing Gran's dress, she had given it to me when I was 13 saying "When you meet the man of your dreams, wear this. It'd make me so happy."

So I did.

I wouldn't have it any other way. It's a beautiful V-neck, cap sleeve, off white lace laying over off white satin. It's gorgeous. I've wanted to wear this dress my whole life, and I'm able to today. I never thought I would get married with her not around anymore, but I'm sure she's watching me smiling that this day has finally come.

"You know Gran is watching the Kayla show on her big TV in the afterlife, crossing fingers you make it out of this room today."

"Oh shut up."

"Seriously. She'd be so proud of you. Well you're all zipped up, let me go grab Donna and Elena to fix your hair, and I'll look for your shoes."

"Thanks, you're being a helpful brother."

"That's my job."

He smiled and ran out the door, seconds later my soon-to-be Mother and Grandmother in-laws burst through, with combs and hairspray. They pulled, tugged, and wrapped my hair around a curling iron. A cloud of hairspray (enough to kill about 3 layers of the ozone) filled the room. Soon everything was falling into place.

Kyle found my shoes, Donna found my bag of waterproof makeup, and my garter, and Elena fixed, and pinned my hair into place that a Texas Twister couldn't ruin it.

And then, I was ready.

I had everything.

Something old- Wedding Dress.

Something new- Garter belt.

Something borrowed- A bracelet from Elena

Something Blue- My blue topaz necklace, and earring set Gran gave me for my 16th birthday, right before she died.
