We're going to visit some family friends over in Johannesburg this holiday!"
My mum was a petite fair lady with wild hair, chestnut brown eyes and a questionable fashion sense. She has a gentle heart and loving aura, but sometimes she's always too excited, for things I really am not!
I dropped my paint brush and gawked at my mother. She knew I had an extreme amount of work to do this holiday as well as assessments coming out of my ears...and not to mention major spanner in the works, uhmm...Johannesburg has NO FUCKING SEA!
This happens tirelessly though; I always have to drag behind Mama Bear whenever she has some new exciting adventure. Don't get me wrong, I love her and spending time with her, but damn does that woman have way too much energy for a 47 year old.
"Mum can we pl..."
"No!" She interrupted
"I'm not listening to excuses, we're leaving Saturday, pack light." She said shutting my door behind her.
Well...I'm definitely at a loss for words, I mean the last time I saw these 'family friends' was when I was eleven and my Gran had cancer.
Shit, how awkward is it going to be when this random chic you barely know shows up to spend the holiday with you....
Usually I'd jump at the opportunity of a holiday, but I barely know these people, plus I'm extremely introverted and shy so it's going to be an extremely uncomfortable 2 weeks, extremely uncomfortable indeed...
I slammed my face into my pillow.
"Thank you so much Mum!" I muffled a scream.
