Saturday came faster than it should have. I was sitting in my room packing since I'd procrastinated up until now; 3 hours before our flight, so at this point I was just shoving shit into my bag.

I still couldn't get my head around how I'm being forced to spend my mid year holidays with people I barely even know, but my mum needs a holiday so I'll stick it out...or I'll try to, hey! You never know what could come from these 2 weeks.

"Leaving in 30 minutes kiddo."

My dad broke me from my train of thought, peeping his head through my door.

My dad was a beefy round man, with a huge redish black beard, long, soft, curly hair until his shoulders and olive coloured skin. He was gentle but fierce, he always showed me love when I needed it most and he was my absolute number one fan.

"But our flight is at 8pm...it's only 5 now!" I whined

"I know" he sighed
"But you know how your mum is when it comes to being punctual before flights" he laughed

I don't understand why I have to get dragged along on mums holiday, I mean surely she can go on by herself. She's an adult for crying out loud! None of my brothers ever have to tag along with her, but because I'm the youngest, I'm always first in line...my brothers enjoyed their male privelage way too much! Pfh! Patriarchy.

"This is absolute torture Pops! Torture I tell you!"

"Lighten up you hermit!" He laughed
"You know how excited she is to see everyone, at least attempt to be nice while you're there"

"Fine! But only for you!" I replied

He laughed and walked out of my room.

It was one hour before our flight and my mum and I decided to check into the waiting lounge. Mum and Dad were saying their final goodbyes. My parents were never overly affectionate towards each other, there always somehow seemed to be an icy wall between them, but I guess you don't deem it unnatural if that's how you saw them everyday, growing up.

After finishing his conversation with mum, my dad turned to me.

"Be good Kiddo, and look after mum." He ruffled my already messed up hair.

"When have I ever listened to you?" I smirked

Dad gave me a playful glare.

"Tell the boys to stay away." He teased.

As if that would ever be a problem. Ever since I could remember, boys always saw me as 'one of the guys' it never really bothered me though. I didn't really swing that way.

See, ever since I can remember, I always felt all tingly and excited about girls, I just preffered girls and appreciated them more in every way, I mean what's not to love about them?! They're so soft and gentle and they smell so good and they love so tenderly....

"Earth to Luna!" Mum sang me out of my thoughts.

"Oh sorry Mama Bear." I laughed, lucky thing my parents can't read minds...

"It's time for us to go."

Right. Let's get this forced holiday over with! I'm so ready to come back home already...I better get something good out of this torture.
