Bits And Pieces Of Regret

I sat on the couch resting my chin on my knee. I sat in complete silence. The television wasn't on. The radio wasn't on. My phone was sitting on the table though. The only thing wrong with my phone is that it was smashed to pieces and it just sat on the table. I stared at it too. I couldn't believe Riley would freak out like that. I don't know what he was planning to do. It scared me too. The look on his face when he walked out the door. I was actually now thinking about really staying here. Technically this was really wrong. How long have I been living with him and I didn't once think of the consequences. I mean he had reassured me nothing would happen. But how long could we live here without anyone recognizing me? After all this time my town finally decides to throw out there that a newcomer of that town is now gone. Ridiculous in my eyes really But, If I wanted to get out of here maybe this was my ticket out. I'm scared of what he would do if he found out I was planning to leave. Considering what he did in the beginning.

I stood up and stretched looking out the window in the process. There was a red truck parked there miraculously. I threw on my hoodie with quite a struggle I then ran to the door. I swung it open and slammed it shut as I jumped off the porch. I pulled Ace towards me in a hug as I heard him chuckle lowly. I wrapped my arms around his neck tightly as his arms wrapped around me pulling me closer.

"You didn't read my messages" He murmured in my hair.

"Phone broke" I replied.

He nodded and pulled back. He pecked my cheek and gave me a cheeky smile. My heart dropped to my stomach as I realized how wrong everything was with Riley. What exactly was Riley trying to accomplish by bringing me away from my home?

"Your tense" Ace pointed out with a frown on his face.

"Just thinking about something" I shook my head with a small smile.

He nodded again and studied my face.

"Let's go to your house," I said with a chuckle following at the end.

Riley is a dickhead and maybe he'd learn that when he couldn't get ahold of me. He broke my phone. He doesn't know where Ace's house is and it's the summer. Maybe I'd just tease him and call his phone by a pay phone in town. I laughed out loud as Ace wrapped his arm around my waist and led me to the car.

"What's so funny?" Ace asked a light smile on his face.

"Thought of this video on the internet" I lied with a smirk plastered on my face.
