Now, you don't have to worry about our almost three years old, brave, pirate Cordelia.
Well, maybe you should worry a little.
You see, all pirates are taught to swim by the time there one years old. It's in there blood. But, Cordelia didn't want to swim, she wanted to get that necklace, the necklace that was now sinking deep into the ocean. Cordelia was a kin, a pirate kin. All pirate kins can breath under water for long amounts of time, and speak to a few sea creatures. And Cordelia could do just that.
She swam down after the necklace. It sparked in the water, tempting her to save it. She swam down deeper and deeper, until she started getting tired of swimming after the necklace that seemed to get no closer. Cordelia focused on the necklace, her hand glowed gold and the necklace floated up to her and into her hand. Cordelia went limp, she used all her energy fighting for the necklace, and now she got it. She drifted down into the sea to deaths open jaws, she was afraid of what was to come, but she accepted it.
Such a young kin, sent to death.
But all was not lost. For Captain Rye had dived in to save Cordelia when she went overboard. And now that she stopped swimming, he grabbed his daughter and swam as fast as he could to the surface, propelled by love. And Cordelia kept that necklace tight in her grasp, for she too was driven by such love. When they broke free to the surface Captain Rye and his daughter coughed up water. Cordelia's light pink hair was plastered to her face, and she was glad for that because it hid her shame. When they were helped on deck Lady Rye rushed up to Cordelia. She wrapped her in a tight hug.
"Cordelia! Don't you ever do that again! You worried me sick!" Lady Rye said as she covered her child in kisses. Cordelia held up a shaky hand to show everyone the necklace. The cabin boy, who was held strongly by Ahab looked to Cordelia, impressed. The Captain saw what she had and his heart leaped with pride.
••••Three Days Later••••
The sound of swords clashing ran through Cordelia's ears as she fought cutlass to cutlass with her father. Once her father new what she was capable of, he started training her daily. And he had no intention to go easy on her today, her third birthday. The crew watched as they battled. It seemed as if there would be no winner, the cutlasses glided threw the air and clashed together. Cordelia pushed her cutlass hard against her fathers. The Captain stumbled back with the impact. Cordelia seized the moment and hit her dads cutlass away from him, sending it sliding on the deck."Surrender Landlubber!" Cordelia said and smirked. No pirate would ever insult their Captain. But Cordelia then lent her hand down and helped her father to his feet. He nodded to her, to acknowledge her win.
"Go get my sword Cordelia." He said.
She did as she was told. When handing it to him, she didn't let go of the sword. She looked around at the crew.
"The deck was slippery." She lied. She looked to her father. "We'll have a fare fight another time." She said then released the sword.
Her fathers eyes gleamed with pride. Later that day, everyone sat around the wooden table after dinner. Captain Rye spoke up.
"Ai mateys! I believe there be a special occasion today." He said and pulled out a box.
Cordelia was shocked. "I didn't realize ye be gettin' me somthin'." She said.
She opened the box and found her moms golden necklace. "Its for you now Cordelia." Lady Rye said.
She put it on, a smile lit up her face. Lady Rye pulled a black hat out from under a cloth, on it was a white feather. "If your going to be a pirate, you'll need this." She said and handed it to Cordelia.
Cordelia smiled at them. "I didn't need this. Your love was always enough." She said as she slid the hat on.
That night, everyone was sound asleep. The waves rocked the ship back and forth. The moon rose steadily in the night sky. But it was no normal, calm night. Tonight was the blue moon. While this may not seem like a big deal to humans. Powerful kins lose control over there powers at this time until the moon sets, and they have no memory of what happened. When the moon rose above the sea Cordelia started fidgeting in her bed. She felt her stomach turn, her hands twitch, an electric pulse up her back. She immediately got out of her hammock and went to the top deck. Her hands glowed green. Her eyes turned misty. She smiled wickedly. The treasure rooms door burst open. Coins flew up to the top deck. The sudden noise woke all the sailers. They grabbed there cutlasses and went to the main deck. The crew and Captain emerged onto the main deck and were terrified. Hundreds of gold coins spun around Cordelia.
Ahab grew mad, he stepped closer to her. "Stop this at once you mutant!" He ordered her.
At once, all the coins stopped. They floated around her. Cordelia laughed as all the coins floated up, then came crashing down on Ahab. He screamed as one flew into his eye. He collapsed, blood trailed from him. The Captains looked at Cordelia angrily and went to help Ahab. Cordelia bought the coins to her again and the crew ran back undercover.
