Morning came. It was Saturday so the emotions basically had the day off today and tomorrow until school week started again.
Today, Joy had an idea.
Before the others had noticed she had quietly left the room, she snuck back into the sleeping-quarters, retrieving her love note.
Since he wasn't there, Joy had the chance to slip the note into Anger's bed. But as she lifted the pillow to slip the note under it, she saw a sheet of paper already under.
Joy recognized that handwriting anywhere. It belonged to the red emotion.
She then set her note down under the pillow and picked up the note with the red emotion's handwriting and decided to read it.
Joy then sat down on her bed and read the note, written in Anger's handwriting.
When she finished, Joy was completely in awe.
Her eyes widened.
Her cheeks nearly turning bright pink.
Her heart was fluttering happily.
Every single word was about how Anger felt about her.
Joy was speechless with love.
She held the love note closely to her heart, lovingly fainting onto the blue star patterned and yellow background comforter on her bed.
But she didn't noticed that her little blue friend had walked into the sleeping-quarters, to see where Joy had left to. Sadness just watched from afar as the yellow emotion started to roll happily across her bed, giggling delightfully for some reason.
Sadness had never seen Joy act like this before in her life. She just hoped that the most positive emotion and best friend, wasn't acting strange.
"Joy? Joy", Sadness finally spoke.
Joy stopped and snapped back into reality.
"Oh, hi Sadness. What're you doing up here", she said.
"Joy, what's going on. I saw you making out with your Anger plush last night", Sadness remained.
"Anger plush? What're you talking about", Joy blushed with embarrassment.
For Sadness this was getting sadder by the minute, even for Joy.
"Joy, there's no other way to lie to me you know. I already knew you had a crush on him", Sadness said, walking up to her best friend and sitting next to her on the bed.
"And he has a crush on me too, Sadness! I can't blame the little guy", the yellow emotion said, "but, you know- we're co-workers. Isn't it, like, illegal".
"Basically yes, sad but true. But, this happens to a lot of people, Joy", the blue emotion said, putting her small blue hand on her friend's shoulder, "and for Riley as well".
"I know that, but look at what he wrote. Every single word is about me", Joy handed Sadness the note.
Sadness adjusted her glasses first and then started muttering the words quietly to herself.
"He described everything that he likes about you", Sadness said, finished reading, "even where it says that he doesn't mind you touching him".
"I know, right", Joy agreed with her blue friend, "especially the part where he describes me as his 'morning star'".
"That's sweet, but when will you two finally express your feelings for each other", Sadness asked her friend.
That was the question Joy couldn't answer.
She didn't know when she and Anger would share their feelings for each other.
"I, I don't know, Saddy", Joy replied, calling her friend by a silly nickname she thought of, "I guess I'll just have to plan it out-think positive".
"Okay. . .", Sadness sighed, "but if you two get together and have kids, I'll fill in for babysitter".
"Okay Sadness", Joy chuckled, "also you're controlling your 'Sadness Spirals' real well".
"I try", Sadness sighed.
Aaaand there's the Sadness she knew.

Later that evening, Joy had Dream Duty while the others went to get some shuteye.
But Anger on the other hand, went to check if his letter was still where he had left it. He looked around the room to make sure no one was watching and lifted the pillow up, but found a different letter.
He picked it up and was surprised that the letter was addressed to him. He recognized the cursive handwritten glittery blue ink. This letter was from the yellow emotion herself.
Anger then decided to read it and opened the envelope, revealing the letter inside it.
He unfolded it and read what the yellow emotion had written.
After reading it, Anger was totally and completely mesmerized. Joy liked him as much as he liked her.
He was nearly at the breakthrough of blushing by every single word she had written about him in the note.
Then he realized that he and Joy would have to tell their feelings about each other sooner or later.
He had to be prepared.
