Adalyns Pov:

May 19, 2018

Saturday mornings are always my "productive" mornings. I strive to wake up and go on a run and make myself a protein shake but in reality all I do is watch TV or scroll through pinterest on my laptop. I pulled my laptop onto my lap and sipped my coffee, well I should say creamer my mug contains 90% creamer and 10% coffee.

Searching through my twitter feed I stumbled across Mateo. He had tons of followers and multiple people interacting with him. He wasn't so bad looking. I smiled at the thought of being in the car with him, him driving me home and me just staring blankly out of the window, my eyes wandering aimlessly through our neighborhood. That's all I can really think about because the rest of my life is so boring.

Later that night aja and I were watching gossip girl. "Hey Aja, I have to tell you something," I said nervously. "Uhh what is it? You're not pregnant are you? Oh wait you've never even had your first kiss." She said back. "None of those.

The other day I got a ride home from Mateo when you were too busy talking to brady." There was a long pause in between us. "Mateo like Mateo Johnson," she asked surprisingly. "Yeah I found out that he doesn't live too far from me," I piped up. "Adalyn what in the hell and you didn't tell me sooner.

You know what we have to go to Mckenzie Blackwood's party tonight. He will definitely be there." I rolled my eyes at her. "Aje it wasn't like that, he was just being nice, it was pouring rain outside and you can't tell me that he wouldn't do that even if it wasn't pouring rain. Besides he's known that he lives by me so why all of the sudden he take me home?"

She sighed and shrugged her shoulders. "We are still going to that party whether you like it or not."

Aja got me ready in tan ankle booties, ripped jeans and a shirt that hangs off the shoulder. "And for the finishing touch," she said as she put a necklace over my head. "Aje i'm not really the party type, besides the only party i've ever been too was your birthday party when you were like 10," I said trying to defend myself. Aja shot back "listen Adalyn you need to get out there and loosen up, get out of your comfort zone." She winked and walked back over to my closet. "Now i need to find something for me to wear."

The party was filled with drunk teens. I looked amongst all the teens and most of the I didn't recognize from school, but some of them I did. Brady, the guy that Aja likes was smoking pot.

Aja stormed over to him and he parted the joint from his mouth. "Brady you are on the water polo team, don't ruin this for yourself."

I paced around the party trying to find someone I knew. I saw Mateo across the room sitting on a couch talking with some other guys I didn't recognize. They were most likely seniors.

I turned the other way, hoping he wouldn't recognize me. The minute I turned away in the other direction I heard my name. "Hey Adalyn, wait up." It was Mateo jumping up off of the couch. I stopped walking and turned around to face him. "Uhh hi Mateo." I said quietly.

"You look really nice tonight," he said looking me up and down. My cheeks turned bright red and I turned away. He rubbed his fingers over my hot cheeks, "don't be shy." My cheeks got hotter and I turned my head so his hand fell off my cheek.

Mateo and I were hanging out in the backyard on Mckenzie's lawn. I was picking the grass and I could just feel his eyes on me. "Adalyn, I've always thought you were so beautiful." I smiled and looked him in the eyes. "Thank you, I didn't even know that you knew who I was." He chuckled, "of course I knew who you were. Believe it or not I was kinda scared to talk to you."

"You were scared to talk to me," I said pointing at myself and laughing. "Yeah believe it or not." He laughed along with me.

We stopped laughing and he leaned in. I stood there not moving or saying anything. "Are you sure about this," i backed away a little. "Just shhh."
