Toy Soldier

Stop they say, wait they pleaded.
But he kept on marching,
his crank broken,
his blood stopped surging,
as his heart had frozen.
Further he marched into the dark,
The world had finally killed his spark.
Every step further from light,
as his form shifts in the night.
