Briar's P.O.V.
It's my first day of school in Canada today, Zac and Izzy start in a week. I put the clothes on that Mummy helped me choose yesterday, a blue floaty top and black leggings. I go downstairs and see some toast sitting on the table and Mummy and Daddy are standing talking, "Hey Little One," AJ says, "Hey Daddy," They both give me a hug. I sit down and eat the toast while Mummy does my hair, she does this,

I listen to some Shawn Mendes on the journey, he is my favourite singer and calms me down when I'm stressed. Daddy is taking me. I arrive at the school in 15 minutes, this is what it looks like,

We go to reception and they tell me where my form room is. I give daddy a hug and head over. I'm in year 4 and most people have been here since year 3 so they know their way around. In form time I get introduced to everyone and my teacher he is called Mr Brown. "Is anyone going to volunteer to tour Briar around?" No one raises their hands, "Aaliyah, will you do it?" He asks, looking at a gentle, kind looking girl with brown eyes and brown hair. "Sure," She answers smiling.
Everyone splits off into groups and Aaliyah walks over to me. "Can I see your timetable?" She asks me, "Okay," I pass it to her and she compares it with hers. "You're in all my lessons, I'll ask Mr Brown is I can give you a quick tour so if you do get lost you have a faint idea." "All right,"
She comes back a few minutes later, "We can go, but we only have fifteen minutes." "Okay," "I don't want to make a bad impression, the tour will be boring as we're just going to be wandering the school and me showing you rooms, so can we ask questions about ourselves?" "Sure,"
We walk out of the door and make our way down the corridor, "Do you have any brothers or sisters?" Aaliyah asks me, "I have a younger brother and sister, they're twins," "How old are they?" "They're 5, do you?" "Yeah his name is Shawn, he's 16"
She shows me the English classrooms and then we go to Maths, "What are your parents' names?" I ask her, "Karen and Manuel Mendes," "You're brother is Shawn Mendes," "Yep," She says annoyed, "Sorry, you don't like all the attention do you?" "No, it gets annoying, my only friends were only friends with me so they could meet him," "I won't do that, promise," "Promise,"
We don't have time for Aaliyah to show me around the rest of the school so we head back to Mr Brown. We also don't have lessons today as it's the first day of term. "You're back, we can start some team building exercises now," "What fun," Aaliyah whispers in my ear, making me giggle.
For the rest of the day, we do the exercises and play some games, Aaliyah stays by me the whole day. Just after the bell rings she turns to me and says, "Best Friends?" I answer, "Best Friends."
Shawn Mendes is my favourite singer (possibly my celebrity crush😂) That's why I wanted to add him into the book. Love you xx
