My jaw hung open as I looked at Mr. Rodriguez and Aunt Chel. Please tell me I was dreaming. I swallowed and looked at Claudine who had tears streaming down her face.

“What the hell!” Claudine screamed making me jump back, “How could you?” she shrieked looking at her father “What do you think moms going to say when she finds out?” Claudine cried out. She started to rant and rumble, she started to scream, which scared me even more.

Claudine’s father stood up and put on his pants, I closed my eyes as both my Aunt and Claudine’s father put on their clothes. I literally wanted to kill Aunt Chel. I mean the man was married!

He had 2 children! Two freaking children and a loving wife. How the bloody hell did Claudine’s father even get here? Finally after putting on their clothes Claudine walked up to her father and slapped him, putting my hand across my mouth I gasped “What kind of a father are you?” she spoke through her tears.

I looked at Aunt Chelsea who was looking at the ground, she suddenly stood up and started to walk towards me she hugged me. Immediately I pushed her away. “What is wrong with you?” I asked, she wasn’t acting normal.

“I-I don’t know,” she slurred I looked into her eyes to see her eyes dilating? Oh, no. She was drugged. “I’m goanna go and-” I pushed her away from me.

“Go. Please.” I begged. I tried to swallow my tears, my father killed my mother because of his drug addiction and now my aunt is becoming a druggy?

Was I being punished? I walked over to Claudine and her father. Claudine sat down on the floor tears falling down her face as her father sat down on the couch tears streaming down his face, his head between his legs.

“Hey” I touched Claudine’s shoulder which made her flinch “Everything is going to be alright” I spoke softly holding onto her hand, my heart was breaking for her. “Lets go into the other room” I helped Claudine up and took her into the kitchen, where she broke down in my arms.

“How could he do that?” she sobbed, I rubbed her back my heart clenching. It hurt me to see my best friend in so much pain “I’m so sorry” I wanted to tell her about my aunt being drugged but I couldn’t just yet.

“Moms going to be heat broken” Claudine pulled away “You don’t need to tell her you know?” Claudine shook her head she walked over to the sink and washed her face “My mom deserves the truth.” I nodded my head, she was right.

“I’m sorry. Once Aunt Chel is fixed up. Ill talk to her” Claudine turned around and glared at me for a second “Knock some sense into her” she walked past me and into the living room. Following her close behind I watched as Claudine barked orders at her dad.

They both left without a single word. I signed and sat on the couch I ran my hands through my hair. Where was Aunt Chel getting the drugs from? My father was a drug addict and he killed my mother because of his overdoes on drugs.

Before I could register what happened tears started to fall down my face. Why was life so cruel? Couldn’t I just be happy for once? My tears soon dried up and I soon fell into a restless sleep.

I woke up in the morning and did my usual routine. Aunt Chel stayed asleep which was good for me. I really didn’t want to talk to her just yet. I showered, dressed and ate. Not too long after I woke up Jess where she got ready for school. I parked my car in the school parking lot and walked over to my usual group as Jess walked over to her group.

I put on a smile and walked over to them, my smile instantly fell from my face as I searched the group and playground. Claudine was nowhere to be seen.  She must be dealing with last nights issue.

A week had passed by and Claudine was still nowhere to be seen. Which I understood because she was going through some family issues. But a small phone call or message would do.

Everyday I would see Gael, lets just say that the night of the party were we agreed to be acquaintances, he took the wrong way. He thinks that were BFF.

Which meant that every single class I had with him, he would sit next to me and be my partner and lets just say that would get London and her two plastic friends riled up.

Unfortunately Xavier would glare icily at me whenever he saw me with Gale. I really didn’t care though, because he isn’t important to me anymore.

On Wednesday when I had my free period, I had talked to a mechanic who was willing to fix my car for a small amount of money. He came and took my car too his workshop telling me that it should be done within the next couple of days.

It was finally Friday and the end of school. Gael was dropping me off at Claudine’s house. I needed to see her, I really didn’t want to ask Gael but he was the only person willing to give me a ride on a Friday afternoon.

Gael stopped the car in front of Claudine’s house and looked at me, while I nervously played with the hem of my shirt “I can come down if you want…” I shook my head and unbuckled my seatbelt.

“I’m fine by myself” I got out of the car and closed the door, I peered through the open window “I’m going to need a ride home…” I trailed off Gale waved his hand “Don’t worry, I’m going to meet up with a friend. Just call me once your done” I nodded my head and backed away I walked up the stairs of Claudine’s penthouse.

I knocked on the door waiting a couple seconds when finally the door opened. Claudine stood at the door her eyes baggy and her hair in a messy bun. She pursed her lips when she saw me.

“Hey” Claudine glared at me and closed the door, so she was the only one I was able to see “Hi” I looked at her questionably “Are you going to invite me in?” Claudine signed and shook her head.

What the hell? “No. Listen we need to talk” I glared at her for a second “Yes we need to talk. You don’t even message, call or even drop by. I’ve been worried sick, you wont answer my calls or messages,” I ranted; I stopped when Claudine screamed at me.

“What?” she looked at me with sadness in her eyes “Listen. My mum and dad are splitting up…

Estelle you need to know that, because your Aunt called up my father asking him for help. My father was on his way home when you’re Aunt called. Lets just say that your Aunt wasn’t in the right state of mind when my father came and she ended up going kissing my father, which ended up in them having sex”

Tears started to form in my eyes as my heart clenched. I couldn’t believe what my Aunt did. How could she do this to me? It’s those drugs. “I’m sorry” Claudine spoke through her tears.

I knew what was going to happen next and I hoped that what was going to happen right now wasn’t going to actually happen. “Just say it” I spoke through my tears my heartbreaking.

Claudine looked at me through her tears “I can’t be your friend” and that’s when my heart shattered into a million pieces. Tears started to fall down my face and at that moment I knew that this was the end of our relationship.

“I hope you understand. Please don’t forget all the years we spent together were the best years of my life. But this is the end of our relationship E. I’m sorry” Claudine spoke as she sobbed; she looked at me for a couple seconds before going inside and closing her door.

A loud sob escaped from my lips as I turned around and ran down the stairs. I just lost my best friend. The best thing that has ever happened to me. As I ran down the street towards my house, which was more than 15 minutes away, I realized it was raining heavily.

I screamed out in frustration, my clothes were soaked and it was freezing. Time went by and I was still running through the rain. I was beyond freezing by the time I ended up at the bus stop, which was sheltered. I sat down on the bench and thanked god and cursed when a black porch pulled up.
