ethan dolan

nothing mattered to me more at this moment.

my reality was being altered as i threw the closest shirt over my head and grabbed my keys from my nightstand.

i ran to the hall, kicked on my shoes and threw a jacket on my shoulders and tried to exit as quietly as possible.

when the door was locked again, i ran to my car, started it and pulled out of the driveway.

i went over the speed limit, and didn't bother blinking the lights whenever i turned. the seat belt was banging on the door, i didn't bother putting it on. i sped through the red lights and hit my chest on the steering wheel every time i slammed my breaks.

the parking lot was quite empty, taking into consideration that it was almost five am. i parked my car to the first free lot i saw and jumped out of my car, slamming the door shut.

there was one, very tiny and petite brunette woman standing behind the counter at the reception, looking dead tired. i ran over to her, clearly making her flinch in fear.

"i need to see amora bisognin." was all i could let out.

"name, please?"

"uh, ethan dolan." i hesitated for a moment, like i didn't remember my name.

she flipped through some papers and folders, putting her finger on the pages and going through some names, addresses and phone numbers, until she stopped and moved her gaze back to me.

"you're not on the list sir."

"please, i have to-"

"if you won't cooperate, i will have to call security sir."

then, it clicked in my mind, like puzzle pieces coming togehter. "edward sent me here."

she raised her eyebrows, closed the folder and wrote something on a piece of paper very quickly. she crouched down, and stood up seconds later with a key card in her hand.

"here you go sir."

i snatched the card from her hand and ran to the elevator as quickly as i could.

the elevator ride was agonizingly long, it felt never ending even though nobody got in the elevator during the ride. finally, the tiny sound that informed you that you have arrived beeped and i got out as soon as the doors opened.

the place was surprisingly clean taking into consideration that in the call amora sounded messy.

"amora?" i asked into the emptiness. no answer.

i wondered through the big apartment, checked every single room and tried every door. she wasn't here.

i walkedto the kitchen, that had big french windows that illuminated the moonlight on the shiny counters. then i noticed something i didn't notice before: a balcony door.

i walked to the door, tried it and opened it.

then i saw her; she was sitting in a fetal position her brown hair falling down her knees and back. she didn't move at all, she barely even breathed.

i sat down next to her and wrapped my right arm around her and tried to soothe her down by moving my hand up and down her spine. she moved her head from in between her knees to my lap, still keeping her legs wrapped inside her arms. her eyes were slightly open; you could see the glistening tears on her cheeks because of the moonlight.

i moved her hair with my fingers behind her ears and started caressing her shoulder slightly. "what happened?"

no answer. she just sniffed and closed her eyes, ignoring me completely. i sighed and moved my gaze from her to the horizon. the sun was starting to rise, you could see it painting the horizon with its colors, giving the clouds a slight pink tint.

i can't remember how long i watched the view, but it was long enough for amora to fall asleep. i picked her up, walked over to her bedroom and tucked her in.

before going, i sat next to her and just collected my thoughts.

why did she out of all the people want me to come?

instead of thinking further, i stood up, collected my key card from the counter and stepped inside the elevator.

again, the ride down was agonizingly long.
