(Above is Darling and Chase's wedding reception)

Darling's POV

I awoke to someone whispering softly into my ear and almost immediately remembered where I was and what had happened. Slowly I opened my eyes to meet my husbands dark blue ones. "Morning Sleepyhead," Chase said kissing my cheek.

"Are we there yet?" I questioned unraveling myself from him and stretching.

"We're just about to pull up to the gates." He answered wrapping his arms around my waist once again. "And I can't wait to show everyone that your truly mine."

I laugh as he kisses my cheek and I grab a mirror out of my bag that was on the floor. I quickly check my hair and makeup. After a few moments he take it out of my hand.

"Hey! I wasn't done with that!" I shouted.

"You don't need it though," he said. "You beautiful no matter how you look." He leaned forward and kissed both my cheeks. I laughed as the gates swung open and the car pulled onto the side of the crowd.

I looked worriedly out the tinted window. Chase immediately noticed that I was bringing to become weary and turned my gaze to him. "Hey your okay. I'll be right beside you the entire time." He said after pecking my lips.

I nodded and a guard opened Chase's door. He stepped out then reached for me to follow. I took a deep breath and grabbed his hand. Chase pulled me out of the car and the crowds got 10 times louder.

Together Chase and I made our way to the front door of the palace. Talking and laughing along the way.

Once we reached the door it was opened to reveal the ballroom filled with kings, queens, friends and both our families. Everyone was facing us as the guard beside us announced our arrival.

We made our way through the crowd as they all bowed and gave their congratulations.

Once at our table, located toward the center at the room, Chase helped me sit before the rest of the guests took their seats.

The king stood from his seat on the stage and made his way over to the microphone. Chase kissed my neck, making me laugh and smile a bit. I pushed him off as the king began to speak.

"Thank you everyone, for begin here with us tonight. Thank you for joining us in celebration of my son's wedding. Even if he did marry someone not particularly to my liking we're still here and celebrating him and his new wife Darling." Chase gripped my hand just a bit tighter upon hearing his fathers words.

I squeezed his hand and he looked at me. "Sorry," he whispered losing his grip and turning back to the stage.

"It's ok, your fine," I said laying my head on his shoulder. The king continues his 'speech' and then backs away from the mic.

The queen steps up and gives me a look that says she's sorry. Then she begins. "I truly just want to say that the girl my son has married is amazing," Chase sat up a bit straighter at those words. "But she is very irrational and stupid. She has no idea what to do with her life and what I know is she's just going to bring my son down." There was a collect gasp throughout the room. I could feel the tears rising in my eyes and Chase rubbing circles around my hand.

I stood and ran from the room before anyone could try and comfort me. I locked myself in a far room. I could hear Chase's voice calling my name from down the hall.

I sat against the wall and let the tears fall.

Chase's POV

Darling ran from the room and the room burst into chaos. I rushed up to the stage and grabbed mic.

"Everybody stay where you are. We will return shortly," I said. I rushed off the stage and out into the hall.

"Darling!?" I called. I heard a door slam and a guard pointed me down the hall. I stopped at the door they said and heard small cries coming from inside. Slowly I opened the door and made my way inside, closing it behind me.

Darling was in the far corner, curled up in a ball. Crying. My heart broke a little as I made my way to her side. I wrapped her in my arms and let her cry into my chest. After a few minutes she wrapped her arms around me and cried harder. We sat there for a few minutes then she lifted her head.

I wiped the tears off her cheeks and pulled her into another hug. "I'm sorry for my parents. They just don't know what the word kind is."

"Now I'm really glad I had my maids use only waterproof makeup for today," She said with a small laugh. I chuckled and pulled her out of the hug. She kissed me and then pulled away. "We should probably get back before the guests start to get worried." I nodded and helped her up.

Together we walked out of the room and were immediately bombarded by maids and butlers who wanted to check out hair, clothing and Darling's makeup.

After they were done they pushed us towards the door. They announced us once again and opened the doors to reveal three guards escorting my parents from the room and everyone else eating and enjoying their food and drinks. Darling and I made our way to the table where her brothers and their wives, Emily and one of my best friends Eric we're waiting.

Darling's parents gave their speeches as well as her brothers, Emily and Eric. After that we had our first dance and then took our leave.

Together we made our way outside and got inside a silver limousine. Immediately after we'd pulled out of gates, Darling laid her head on my shoulder and sighed. I looked down at her as her eyes fluttered in her battle to keep them open. I leaned down and kissed her cheek. "Just close your eyes, Dar. Sleep for a little while. We have a long drive ahead of us," I whispered closing the divider between us and the drivers.

She yawned and moved herself so her head was laying on my chest. Slowly I leaned to the side, letting the rest of my body lay on the cushioned seats. Darling laughed and pulled her legs up close to mine, snuggling against me as she did so.

I wrapped her in my arms and kissed her forehead. "I love you Mrs. Redford." I whispered into her ear, as I watched her eyes flutter once again.

"I love you too, Chase," She murmured snuggling into me a bit more and letting sleep overtake her.

After a few minutes I was sucked into the dream world myself.
