Chapter 6: I realized my mistake!!!!!!

Time skip to bookstore

Yuri was taking a bit longer than needed to find a book, so I decided to read for a bit. She said that she would often have to read the first few chapters in order to make sure she liked the book before buying it. "Oh gosh, she's so darn cute." I thought, as I started to read the manga I had chosen (and had already checked out.)

It was about this mean girl that secretly liked a shy girl from her anime club. I had only bought it so maybe it could help me confess to Yuri, but the book made it look so easy. As my eyes scanned the pages, I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder.

"N-Natsuki, I-I'm done checking out, lets go." a soft voice said behind me. I looked behind me to find Yuri clutching a horror story. Ugh, classic Yuri. I closed my book and stood up, placing the manga under my arm. "What were you reading?"

"Uh, Uh, Uh... well ugh erm!" I stuttered, was I really about to tell her about the plot of my book? "A pretty good manga." I said finally, grasping onto the manga harder.

"Uh, I already knew that. W-what is the manga about?" She said, giving a shy awkward smile.

I gulped as I felt my face slowly heat up and my palms begin to sweat again, "It's about a girl."

"Oh," she said awkwardly, looking away, and clutching her book tighter. "OHH SHOOT I JUST MADE THIS SITUATION SOOOOO AWKWARD AHHHHHHHHH-" I was screaming internally as I began to walk quicker towards the public transportation. "W-Wait! N-Natsuki!" I heard Yuri say as the distance between us became more defined.

"I-Ill s-see you tomorrow okay!" I said quickly as I hopped onto the bus, and began to walk towards the bus. Then I realized my mistake. Yuri takes the bus too.

I saw Yuri enter the bus, her hair flowing daintily behind her. She looked around for a bit, and I tried to hide my face behind the book I was reading, but my uniform gave me away. "N-Natsuki..." She whispered softly as she began to approach me. She sat down next to me, and I felt heat rise up to my face again as the situation became more awkward.

For what seemed like forever, we sat in complete and utter silence. I could see Yuri looking away from the reflection on the window. She looked at me a few times, opening her mouth, then shutting it and looking away again.

"N-Natsuki..." I finally heard Yuri speak up, "I-if you don't want t-to hang o-out with me, y-you can refuse. I-I am n-not making y-you do a-anything." She said, I could hear her voice tremble, but my heart was beating louder. She has this all backwards!

"N-NO! I mean... T-That's not what... I'm just... I do sorta wanna hang out with you dummy." I said, trying not to sound desperate (even though I was) "I, just d-don't want to talk a-about my book."

"O-Oh..." She sounded relieved, "I-It's just that? Y-you could j-just tell me you don't w-want to talk about it." She paused for a moment, "Why don't you w-want to t-talk about your book?"

I gulped, "reasons." I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, it was so hot in this bus! "YES! Situation cooled down, good job Natsuki, you are a step closer to winning Yuri's precious heart." I thought while I internally gave myself a pat on the back.

Soon Yuri got off the bus and said goodbye, walking off into her home. While I had to face my emotionally unstable father at home.

Time skip

Avoiding my father was a success this time! I had managed to get a few bruises along my chest and collarbone, but that was it! I made my way into my room, and collapsed on my bed, taking the manga out from under my shirt (I had to hide it from my dad.) "Okay, time to write and take some notes down!"

I opened the first page of the manga and began reading, although, soon, I realized it had borderline hentai scenes. "Ew, this is so gross! I wish me and Yuri could- nope nope!"

Soon, a scene came where the two had a sleepover. "Okay, write down some notes!" Okay, the mean girl offers the shy girl some tea...

Natsuki's list for getting Yuri

1. Offer tea

She sits next to her, and offers to watch a romantic movie.

2. Offer to watch a romantic movie, if she says no... watch it together anyways

When the movie had a scene where someone confesses their love, the mean girl confesses to the shy girl.

3. Confess in the middle of the movie

"Ugh! I-I don't think real life works like that!" I eyed the list, is it that easy? What about Sayori and Monika, where will they be? What if I just lock myself up again and start insulting her, and being a stupid Tsundere? What if she just doesn't like me back? "Toooo many emmmoooottiiioooonnnssssssssss!" I stood up and walked to my closet. I stared at it for a while before unhooking my night clothes off the hanger and changed.

I tucked myself into bed, unfolding the one cover I had and shivered slightly. It was always so cold in my room, and I only had one blanket. I wish papa would buy me more blankets...

"I wish I could cuddle next to Yuri, I bet she would be so warm." I thought, smiling to myself.

I reached for my phone at the last minute and set an alarm to 9:25 am, so I could make it over to Monika's house early. I placed it down next to me, and let my eyes flutter shut.
