Victoria had come to love her older brother. He proved that he could be a good older brother. He gave her space when she needed it. He gave her freedom as she got older. He was there for her when she was feeling down. She forgave him for leaving her.

Vincent was there on her 10th birthday. She had a party with her friends. They had all went to a carnival in a nearby town. The had gone on all the rides and ate cotton candy. Then they had come home to eat pizza and cake.

Victoria loved the food on the outside. The never had things like pizza in the monastery. It probably due to the limited outside communications. Most of the food they ate was made in the monastery.

After her party with her friends, she had another party. It was celebrating the start of her training. She learned that Julian would be teaching her. She also met some other 2nd gen kids in the neighborhood.

She would go to a special school in the city. Julian was a teacher there and she was in his class. Victoria was a little disappointed that Vincent wouldn't teach her, but she understood. Vincent had to go on missions for the White Tiger. They had to defeat the Black Dragons so they could go back home to Planet Kristeyn.

Vincent had explained that missions could be as short as 2 hours or as long as 3 months. He assured her that he wouldn't take a mission he thought would keep him away from her. She thought he would keep his word. He'd regained her trust by doing that.

That's what she thought. She waited for him to come back. She learned as much as she could so she could impress him when he came back. But he never did. Not after a week. Not after a month. Not after 3 months. Not after 6 months. Not after a year.

After that, Victoria gave up waiting for him. He wasn't coming back. He had left her once again. Victoria felt like she have known. She should have known that he would leave her. Victoria's world came crashing down on her. She didn't know whether she was depressed or insane. All she knew was that something in her attitude shifted. She felt dead inside.

What was the point of life? To raise your expectations only to disappoint you. Life would give you good. Then when you think everything is perfect, it will destroy in all. She thought that described her life pretty well. She was a baby with a loving family. Then, she was an orphan in an unfamiliar place. Suddenly, she's a princess. The next she's learning about the Queen's lies. Soon after, she reconnects with her brother only to have him leave her again. What would be the next 'perfect' life she gets?
