As I expected I woke up alone. I rolled over and heard a crumple. I moved back and touched a piece of paper.

I sat trying to wake up; I yawned unfolding the note.

I had to leave because I would rather not be burned to death by the sun, I stole a kiss before I left and I might have taken your black and red thong. I have business so I won’t be visiting you tomorrow but I will… soon.

With love your Dracula.

I smiled shaking my head and got up to check my underwear drawer and sure enough my black and red lace thong was gone.

I folded the note and put it in my underwear drawer. He was so dumb… but attractive dumb. I brushed my teeth and skipped down stairs.

My mom was making breakfast like usual but something happened, her smile wasn’t real. I stopped walking once I reached the island where I usually sat.

She tried not to look at me like she had done something wrong, “Good morning honey.”

I growled clenching my hand, “What happened, did Jared do something?!”

Her movement’s faltered for a second before continued, “I don't know what you are talking about.”

I slammed my hand down onto the counter making her jump, “Tell me now!” her voice got chocked up then, “I-he, he said that I couldn't tell you.”

I walked around turning the stove off and grabbed her face making her look at me, “Tell me what.”

I turned her head more so she would face me and something caught my eye on her neck. I gasped turning her neck, it makes sense! He only comes at night, oh no… he is a vampire.

I shook her, “Mom did Jared do this to you? Mom, tell me!”

She sniffed reaching up gingerly touching her neck, “He told me I couldn't tell you, he said he would hurt you!”

I felt my insides twist and turn. Dracula wouldn’t be here tonight so I can’t ask him do anything.

I grabbed her hand, “Mom, come one we are going to a friend’s house.”

If Dracula can’t come you but I can go to him; I hope he isn’t busy. Wait we can’t go there the vampires might recognize me and attack me.

I groaned, “We can’t go to my friends house I just remembered… but we can leave just for tonight.”

I pushed her to the stairs, “Go get some clothes we are staying at a different friend’s house.”

She looked confused and walked upstairs I cleaned up the kitchen.

I ran upstairs grabbing a quick bag for a few nights. When my mom came down sniffing I grabbed a bandage and put it on her still slightly bleeding neck.

“I don't get why he didn't heal it.”

She looked confused, “What do you mean.” I shook my head getting in the car she got in the passenger’s seat, “Where are we going?”

I glanced over, “Kristen.” Her eyes burrowed, “The psychic?”

I sighed, “Yah her, she will let us stay there for tonight, I have to ask her something anyways.”

My mom went silent just looking out the windows.

Once we got to Kirsten’s house I found her sitting on the porch looking at us. I parked and my mom followed me.
