- It had been three weeks since Zach's testimony, three weeks of ignoring his texts, calls and attempts to talk to you at school. It wasn't easy, but you felt broken inside, you didn't think you could forgive him for what he did even though you undoubtedly still loved him. Seeing his face every day was hard enough, but his constant attempts to make you forgive him drew you closer and closer to doing so. But you knew you couldn't. You had to be stronger than that. The moment you forgive a cheater, it makes them rationalise their actions and believe they can do it again, or that's what you kept telling yourself. But maybe Zach was different? Maybe he'd learnt from his mistakes and maybe forgiving him wasn't such a bad idea. You shook your head and slammed your locker shut, heading off to your next class as the bell rung.
You found yourself constantly doodling and day dreaming during lessons, not being able to concentrate on anything. Your break up with Zach was undeniably the reason for it. You never wanted to see the boy again, yet you wanted to hold him and kiss him like you used to. You told yourself every single day that you would never go back to him, but your heart ached for him.
What made it even worse was that the Bakers lost the trial against the school, Hannah lost, and you could tell in Zach's eyes when you saw him that he blamed himself a lot for it. You still loved him, you couldn't deny that, so seeing him in pain made it all the more harder to stop yourself from going over to him. You were so used to him being there for you through everything and you for him, that it felt like you were having withdrawal symptoms by not being able to be with him.

Zach was sat with Alex at lunch, doing the usual, listening to how the boy thinks he's a cripple that Jessica will never love.
"Anyways, how are things with you and (Y/N)," Alex asked.
"W-what? What do you mean?" Zach stuttered.
"You know, has she forgiven you yet?" Alex continued.
"Oh...no, I don't think she ever will to be honest, she hasn't said a word to me since we broke up," Zach muttered, his heart sinking.
"Have you even tried apologising to her properly?" Alex sighed.
"What? Yeah of course I have! I've apologised to her so much I don't know what else to do!" Zach exclaimed, getting annoyed at his friends lack of belief in him.
"No, I mean like properly apologise...texting and calling or just saying 'I'm so sorry' won't cut it...you know women Zach...c'mon," Alex rolled his eyes.
"I only had to smile and apologise once for Hannah to forgive me," Zach answered, confused.
"Well, for starters Zach, you didn't cheat on Hannah the whole summer, well I mean actually that's debatable if she didn't know you were dating someone...but that's besides the point...(Y/N) is not Hannah," Alex rambled.
